It's about as basic as you can get, but still a classic and it came with two mission packs. GTA (and GTA2) is available for free download on Rockstar's official website, as well as Steam (but you have to buy it as part of a collection there). Mission Packs Release: April 29 1999 [GTA: London 1969] June 1 1999 [GTA: London 1961] These two mission packs were the first expansions for Grand Theft Auto, and set about expanding the core gameplay and changing the main locale to London instead of the United States. Grand Theft Auto 2 [t]http://i.imgur.com/wW9op7V.png[/t] Release: September 30, 1999 For the PC, PS1, Dreamcast and Gameboy Advance. It offered an improved version of the original GTA and allowed you to do work for seperate gangs. -- 3D Era Grand Theft Auto 3 [t]http://i.imgur.com/Lic2Anm.png[/t] Release: October 22, 2001 Hailed the granddaddy of all open world 3D games, GTA3 was released for the PS2, Xbox and PC. The silent protagonist (revealed in later games to be Claude) is betrayed by his girlfriend in a robbery, and you set out to gain revenge on her through moving up in the crime ladder. It set the precedent for all the future 3D GTA games and was very amazing and controversial for its time, as well as establishing Liberty City (the first arguably well known city in the GTA series). It was rereleased later for the iOS and Android phones on its anniversary, as well as being available on the Playstation Network. Grand Theft Auto: Vice City [t]http://i.imgur.com/zxTjhC9.png[/t] Release: October 29, 2002 Vice City was released for the PS2, PC and Xbox. It is set in the fictional Florida settlement of Vice City, and takes a lot of inspiration and flair from the 80s, as well as loosely following the Scarface theme for the story. Features a lot of rad music, colourful scenary and motherfucking helicopters, as well as introducing the first talking protagonist Tommy Vercetti. It was rereleased later for the iOS and Android on its anniversary, and is also available on the PSN. Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas [t]http://i.imgur.com/HbHp2eD.png[/t] Release: October 26, 2004 Released on for the PS2, PC and Xbox, it is the largest GTA game to date in the 3D Era. It features a whole state, San Andreas, instead of just one city, with three cities loosely based off Los Angeles (Los Santos) and San Francisco (San Fierro) of California, and Las Vegas (Las Venturas) of Nevada. It is seen to be the most popular GTA game still today, as it bought a lot of new features to the table. The usefulness of these features (the rpg style elements primarily) is hotly debated amongst many fans. Also introduced Carl 'CJ' Johnson, make of him what you will. You can also swim in this one, finally. It is available on PSN and XBLM. Grand Theft Auto: Advance Release: October 25, 2004 Developed by an independant studio (Digital Eclipse) for the Game Boy Advance. Features a new main character called Mike who does criminal work in Liberty City. Considered by some to be the weakest link in the series. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories [t]http://i.imgur.com/sgzLN4Y.png[/t] Release: October 24, 2005 For the PSP (and a year later on the PS2), this is a spinoff to GTA3 (set three years before) putting players in the shoes of capo Toni Cipriani, who rises through the Leone ranks in Liberty City and earns the trust of his boss Salvatore Leone. Now available on Android & iOS Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories [t]http://i.imgur.com/xXdujtn.png[/t] Release: October 31, 2006 Also for the PSP (and again ported to the PS2 only), this is the earliest canon GTA game in the 3D era and is set two years before Vice City, showing how dishonourably discharged army private Victor Vance rises through the criminal underworld in Vice City just to survive (and dealing with Lance.. fucking Lance). Features a lot of pastel coloured suits, more 80s music and the return of swimming. -- HD Era Grand Theft Auto IV [t]http://i.imgur.com/tskFkwg.png[/t] Release: April 29, 2008 The most detailed game ever released in the series, Grand Theft Auto IV hit the shelves for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It details the journey of Niko Bellic, an immigrant fresh off the boat from Europe inspired to start a new life after reading his cousin's many letters about how awesome America is. However, once he gets there he finds out that Roman was just telling bullshit stories and is forced to work his way through the shady dealings of Liberty City to secure some money and deal with his past at the same time. This is set in a completely new universe (with references to the 3D era but no reappearances of the old characters) and features some really amazing physics and graphics, and keeps the overall classic GTA gameplay. Just be weary of getting persistent phone calls from all your friends. There's also the PC port, notorious in its ability to work in technologically impossible ways on every machine as well as being bundled with GFWL, but as of a few patches, GFWL has been removed completely and the game optimised. Episodic Content [t]http://i.imgur.com/95RU202.png[/t] Release: 17 Feburary 2009 [TLAD] 29 October 2009 [TBOGT] The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony were released as two-parters to GTA4, part of a deal with Microsoft Games for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. It fixed up a lot of the criticisms with GTA4 and interweaved the three protagonists stories together (Niko Bellic, Johnny Klebitz and Luis Lopez) into an interesting and satisfying experience, also offering new weapons, cars and a whole bunch of stuff to do. TLAD also requires you to be confident of your sexuality. You can buy GTA4 + TLAD and BOGT in a complete bundle called 'Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City' in retail or on Steam. Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars [t]http://i.imgur.com/g5ZAyjE.png[/t] Release: 17 March 2009 Released for the Nintendo DS, and a few months later for the PSP and iOS, it is the second game (not counting the episodic content) to be released in the HD era and follows the story of Huang Lee through Liberty City. It received impressive reviews for a handheld game. Grand Theft Auto V [t]http://i.imgur.com/jKMReZs.png[/t] Release: September 17th 2013 (PS3 and 360) November 18th 2014 (PS4 and Xbox One) April 13th and 15th 2015 (PC) The fifteenth game in Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto series tells the stories of three playable protagonists; Michael, a former robber and troubled family man who is now living the high life in Los Santos and unsatisfied with his life, Franklin, a gangbanger who represents Chamberlain Families is looking to get out of the hood and earn himself more cash than all the awful gang related errands he runs and Trevor, Michael's former partner-in-crime, living in Blaine County way out in the sticks. The stories of the three characters intertwine frequently and outside of missions the player can freely switch between them.
Pastebin with thread for easy use for future threads.
Way to go starting a thread and not even fixing the images.
Way to go starting a thread and not even fixing the images.
I mean it takes some time to fix and format all that stuff. Besides, I need to remake/find some photos like the big crew photo
I mean it takes some time to fix and format all that stuff. Besides, I need to remake/find some photos like the big crew photo
Would of been better to fix the images before posting because it looks like a lazy op grab considering the 3 hour gap between the last one closing but that's just me.
Fixed all of the op. For the nitpickers among us, we even have the old header back!
Can you put the fixed op into a new pastebin?

Take Two belongs in the trash [editline]18th June 2017[/editline] I find it so infuriating how the dlc's have not been in any way integrated into the Singleplayer, and now they have the nerve to try and stop even merely spawning shit offline

I hope to see an overall negative
I hope to see an overall negative
I hope to see sales/shark card crap de-orbit so hard that they end up permanently cratering this clusterfuck into the collective minds of developers and/or publishers everywhere. If the free market ever needed a chance to prove itself to consumers as a force for good, now would be the time.
You're forgetting that this is exclusively a PC market problem. I doubt they'll even notice/care.
I hope to see sales/shark card crap de-orbit so hard that they end up permanently cratering this clusterfuck into the collective minds of developers and/or publishers everywhere. If the free market ever needed a chance to prove itself to consumers as a force for good, now would be the time.
They made half a billion from Shark Cards up to April 2016. If PC players stopped buying shark cards I doubt the amount of money they're making from Shark Cards will drop that much. (Steam has roughly 7 million people who own GTA V, lets say social club has equal that amount, that's only 18% of the reported sales across all platforms) There are lots of casual gamers who play on all platforms, that don't read Reddit etc and see all the hate and negativity towards microtransactions. They're the ones who will still continue to buy Shark Cards.
Since it's a new thread, I figure I might as well repost this stuff so people can save money for the dripfeed shit: [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DCccHC1UAAE7Sl_.jpg[/t][t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DCccHguUMAE83xy.jpg[/t] [t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DCdvJOjXkAACaD2.jpg[/t][t]https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DCdvJORWsAAT5EF.jpg[/t] Leakers stated before the update dropped that we would have a very long dripfeed so I wouldn't expect to see some of this stuff for a long time. First dripfeed content is speculated to drop Tuesday though. [editline]d[/editline] There are also special liveries that are probably going to drop around the 4th of July so that is another thing to look out for. [editline]dd[/editline] I accidentally said tomorrow when I should have said Tuesday for the dripfeed content. Sorry to anyone who was expecting shit on Monday because of my fuck up.
Ardent is based on James Bond's Lotus, right? If it can submerge that would be cool.
Now the game finally has the rating it deserved in the first place :v:
Honestly releasing RDR2 PC near launch is probably the only thing that will save them now.
Ardent is based on James Bond's Lotus, right? If it can submerge that would be cool.
Submerging car would be awesome
Now the game finally has the rating it deserved in the first place :v:
The single-player experience is great. In my opinion and many others', multiplayer has ruined it from the beginning.
Nevermind, Ardent is just a lame version of Ruiner 2000 without rockets, power hop and parachute.
You're forgetting that this is exclusively a PC market problem. I doubt they'll even notice/care.
I mean, OpenIV was exclusively a PC market 'problem' too. It's making enough money for them to care about killing mods I guess?
Honestly releasing RDR2 PC near launch is probably the only thing that will save them now.
No, that wouldn't save them at all if they're still going to have shitty microtransactions and will continue to fuck over SP modders. The best thing they can do right now to salvage this situation is letting OpenIV continue doing their thing without any bullshit from T2. Unfortunately, it would not solve the problem of their bullshit microtransactions, but at least people who had nothing to do with the cheating situation in online wouldn't be getting fucked over.
The single-player experience is great. In my opinion and many others', multiplayer has ruined it from the beginning.
So it has, that's why it's not all that great, in my opinion, and many others' :v:
Does anyone know if Scripthook will ever be updated now?
Does anyone know if Scripthook will ever be updated now?
I don't believe the author has said anything.
So it has, that's why it's not all that great, in my opinion, and many others' :v:
Spec Ops The Line also had a shitty multiplayer, but the single-player mode is everyone's main focus. Both are great games if you ignore the multiplayer part, and that's what they get remembered for in the end.
Honestly releasing RDR2 PC near launch is probably the only thing that will save them now.
No it won't, don't be stupid, the thing that will save them is Take-Two taking their asses away from Rockstar.
Spec Ops The Line also had a shitty multiplayer, but the single-player mode is everyone's main focus. Both are great games if you ignore the multiplayer part, and that's what they get remembered for in the end.
But the thing is that the single player isn't great. It's really lackluster, because R* has dedicated a lot more time to the Online portion which is inherently flawed. Thus, both modes suck. Online because of the grind and microtransactions, and the single player out of straight up lack of content other than the story and dumb minigames. Had rockstar integrated the DLC's into the singleplayer, it would be a different story. Or had they fleshed out the gameplay during the initial development, that'd be fine too.

[editline]18th June 2017[/editline] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grand_Theft_Auto_V#Critical_reception
GTA V's story/SP was so underwhelming that I never even got halfway through it. Michael is a moron and Franklin would actually get somewhere in his life of he stopped listening to all of his trash friends who just exist to drag him into their problems and into a life of criminality. Everyone is carrying an idiot ball and I don't give a shit about the characters. There hasn't been another story DLC, either. All effort has gone into milking GTAO for Shark Cards. Wouldn't be a big deal since the modding community always steps up to fill in what the game is missing... except Take 2 thinks modding is a crime worse than software piracy, now. I want to like GTA V but I'm not putting up with such a one-sided relationship. And I blame T2, not R*'s devs, for the whole debacle.
