Recently picked up Killswitch's copy for the PC and I just found out that there's a DRM that keeps me from being able to play the game and just keep asking to reboot the computer. Anyone even have this problem and know a work around?
Also sorry if this isn't the right place to ask
:snip:
Please tell me you're talking about that old xbox third person shooter kill.switch
I've been feeling nostalgic as fuck for that game lately
Yea, the game is the Third Person shooter that was on PS2 and xbox that had the cover mechanic
I can't find any information on what kind of DRM it uses, but if it's something like Starforce or SecuROM, it's actually unplayable on Windows 10 because Microsoft finally patched the vulnerabilities they abused.
That's a shame
Having the same problem with Dark Messiah of Might and Magic, it says it's SecuRom, and after a bit of digging I can't find a fix, a shame is about all I can think to say about it, both are excellent games.

You should be able to activate the cd key on steam, the steam version doesn't use securom.

It's the steam version I'm talking about, sounded like Warmarine was having the same problem, it tells me error 8016, with a link to intel with the Securom logo on the page.
Seems that there's something to do with windows 10, various places say that 'flashing the motherboard' worked for them, seems to mean update it though I've never heard that before, played around with intel downloads for a bit and it still gave me the error.

That's odd. I have the steam version of Dark Messiah and it has no securom and I get no errors relating to securom and I have win10. The store page for DM also shows no mention of third party DRM
I hadn't had a problem with it before, I just felt like going back to it, give it another go, and suddenly that, validating and reinstalling didn't work. So I've uninstalled for now. might try again with it.
I got the 'flashing the motherboard' tip from browsing the discussions boards of DM, but I can't remember exactly how old it was.

I think I got that error trying to install Fable 3 on pc (can't remember why I wanted to install it) but updating my motherboard BIOS fixed it.
