Hey let me explain my situation.
I currently am using the new steam beta, and I had a look in the beta participation tab and it said I had 1 available so I clicked it, steam restarted and now its updating really slow. Steam wont actually start up cause its the actual platform thats updating, and its taking a very long time... to long really. Everyone have a look in your steam beta participation tab and there will be something you can take part in.
My question is what did I do? I dont actually know what this is changing or how big the update is altogether :/
I thought it was out of beta

There's a new a new beta client (it's mostly bug fixes, but they need people to test it)
It's in the setting window.
Its a really bad idea cause now I cant play any of my steam games :/
Well its put me in quite a bad situation ALOT of my games were through steam.
Hmm, just opted in for the beta, everything went fine. Dunno though.
maybe because it's a beta?
Right click your steam shortcut, hit properties, add:
-clearbeta
