As massive forces of nature, these dragons have wrought destruction across the continent of Tyria, forever changing its face and its inhabitants. The player is thrown into the midst of this destruction. Each character has its own biography which affects the story and how non-player characters react. As the game progresses, organizations can be joined and situations approached in different ways; these influences change the experience of the story as it advances towards the final confrontation with the Elder Dragon, Zhaitan. The Gameplay Guild Wars 2 avoids using the same gameplay elements as other mainstream MMOs. Instead of quests given by NPCs, players can freely join dynamic events that are occurring in the world. These dynamic events appear all over Tyria without each player having to accept a quest; any player can jump in to a dynamic event and have the same chance at loot as any other playing in the same event. Events scale with the amount of players participating, so a horde of players can't take down a boss by sheer numbers. There are also static events, know as "renown hearts," scattered throughout the world, that players can complete at their leisure. Each class is completely self-sufficient if necessary, and any class can focus on healing, defense, and attack as they please. Combat is fluid and in constant motion, no more "hitting each other until one of the players falls over." In addition to structured PvP, there is also WvWvW: World vs World vs World, which matches your server against two others in an epic war spanning four maps. Just to pick up from the last thread
play at least one character to 80 first (hint: Thief), use the boost on a slow-levelling profession like Guardian or Mesmer
I do have a level 80 Engineer with like 400 hours on them. I just don't know what to try next :v: So I've been leveling a Guardian and having some decent fun there but not enough to blow my 80 on it quite yet.
Lord Faren #1. Fuck you Commander
I like using wild blow and then rush because it makes me feel like anime [editline]19th May 2017[/editline] also continuing from the previous thread
a little piece of me dies every time i see a charr with animehair and that face

thanks, now i'm decaying even further
Anyone have an idea how to fix my issue of flat out not being able to start up the game? Ever since one of the most recent Win10 updates (or maybe GW2 update or both) my game updates but when I try to start it up it appears on my task manager for a split second before it disappears. I've uninstalled and reinstalled but that didn't work.

Anybody got any tips regarding the new update. Is condi rev now better than power rev in spvp?
Condi rev is much better than power now but still shit compared to condi ele. Because you know entire balance team plays only ele and war.
you're all just jealous of how meta my condi ele charr is
I still haven't changed my Asura's face and I never will.
Condi rev is much better than power now but still shit compared to condi ele. Also won 2/3rds of my pvp matches so far so I think I'm either very lucky or I'm at least managing to hold my own in pvp. If condi rev I'll have to grab a mace and give it a try
I am unironically using the anime charr set up, I thought it matched the horns well.
you're all just jealous of how meta my condi ele charr is
We can be laughing stocks together  [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/s/yn72m6d187wdtc4/2017-05-19_17-32-10.jpg[/t]
you're all just jealous of how meta my condi ele charr is
I mean at least it fits the armor. It almost looks like a crest that is part of it. Also jeez the height difference between the norn and you.

Also jeez the height difference between the norn and you.
yeah, I specifically made him with the balth outfit and incinerator in mind, I at least TRIED to make stuff look decent. Hell, I've also done well with roxface to the point people didn't realize I was using it til they saw the jowel-like fur tufts also max size + /crossarms + embiggening tonic is incredible, look at this sylvari [t]http://i.imgur.com/7qZvd1d.png[/t] my daggers are as big as he is [editline]e[/editline] also one with a max size charr standing normally nearby [t]http://i.imgur.com/mYgmQwv.jpg[/t] [editline]e[/editline] ginyu force [t]http://i.imgur.com/RMY7jt7.jpg[/t]
Something I've noticed about all the Elite Spec leaks from the new xpac is that characters are getting Main hand weapons now. In HoT everyone either got an offhand or a twohander, but now almost everyone (if the leaks are true) is getting a new main hand, with 2 2-hands and 1 offhand. Just seems interesting. Interestingly enough, week or so before balance patch hit I found an interesting experimental build on MetaBattle of Viper/Sinister Elementalist. I wanted to try it out, as comments were saying it was pretty good for both open world and instances, and boom, behold, it's now meta and I won't feel so special anymore.
when I was building up the above ele a few weeks ago, I wanted to make a condi build and asked a friend who was heavily into raiding and fractals, and man I did not hear the end of how I'd be wasting my time
I sorta forgot how nice people are in this game. After playing WoW and FFXIV for a while lately, and TERA on the side, it's nice to get thank yous/your welcomes or for people to actually come to your aid when you ask :v:
Yeah, the two mmos I still play somewhat regularly are BDO and GW2 and the communities are drastically different. BDO is really based on the old mmo style of "fuck you, I got mine" and the type of vocal players it draws are what you'd expect. The ones who just play are generally nice. Also you get a whole bunch of meme/Trump/alt-right spammers, half of which are probably trolls, but it still stinks up the chat with incessant garbage. I don't even remember Barrens chat being that bad comparatively.
also you get a whole bunch of meme/Trump/alt-right spammers, half of which are probably trolls, but it still stinks up the chat with incessant garbage
this is gw2 mapchat but the other half is confused casual players and sjws

Was going to get a static raiding group going but the the leader left the guild, blocked me, and then after I asked about the block on discord, removed me from the server. :s: [sp]Hoping he's just an asshole who didn't want to raid and was afraid of confrontation, and not something that I did.[/sp]

That's the way to go to be a guild leader, right! But actually, I've been in a guild for about...one and a half year, been there since its inception pretty much, the guild leader started doing the weekly donations into the guild(2g/week) to fund more research and whatnot. So I gave the gold for two or three weeks in advance after he mailed me in-game and reminded me I should donate, and then some days later I was gone from the guild. Without saying anything. Year and a half, and he just removed like that? Alrighty mate. But at least I found a guild with slightly more friendly people, I'd say. Even though I'm still rather sad that I was gone like that from the guild.

Nothing more satisfying than popping an apple and guiding a bunch of innocent newbies into fights that horribly mangle them as they progress.
I met two friends of mine by just helping to complete Auric Basin. I also met some people who I thought were ok but then they turned out to be really cringey. Ever other person in their guild was named Nyx, the guild leader said she rp'd but her main character was "a vampire who hates humanity and wants to manipulate people, but really deep down she's delicate and wants love", there was one guy who would constantly vape very loudly in the microphone and unironically say "I hate humans", and when I quit the guild because no one was ever online and I needed a guild slot for another guild, the guild leader freaked out and was insulting me, saying I wasn't active in their community and was only leaching off of them. Except no one was ever online, they only ever talked in their Skype group, and I only ever went to their guild hall once. The irony is I had met them before doing AB with my friend and I thought they were kinda off then, but I only remembered it was then went I remembered there were like 5 people named "Nyx" there too.
