Jim French, voice actor of Bill from L4D, Elder Titan from Dota 2, Father Grigori from HL2 has passed away
The name Jim French may not make gamers immediately think of anyone in particular, yet his voice has had an impact on millions. Perhaps best known as the voice of William “Bill” Overbeck from Left 4 Dead, Mr. French has unfortunately passed away. Jim French had recently retired from his long-standing position at the head of Imagination Theatre, producing radio plays for over twenty years. That's really sad, now him, Breen and Eli's voice actors are gone
Grigori and Bill were voiced by the same person? I had no idea.
Farewell, Brother! I fear I deliver you to a darker place. May the Light of Lights illuminate your path.
It's weird, I was reading about him this morning.
Grigori and Bill were voiced by the same person? I had no idea.
Really? When I got Left 4 Dead, it took me all of 5 minutes before I went 'wait, Father Grigori? What are you doing here, go away'.
He also voiced the fisherman in Lost Coast. The man had such a great voice and voiced some of my favorite characters. Shit sucks, man.
VALVE DO SOMETHING ANYTHING ... NO NOT A DOTA CARDGAME YOU FUCKS
I like to imagine he managed to grant his congregation peace before he went.
How long before Valve literally couldn't do a Half-Life 3 because every voice actor is dead? So it's Breen's, Eli, and now Grigori (granted he died in HL2 but the VA could have voiced a new character). I mean at least they don't have to worry about Gordon's voice actor.
if Gordon's voice actor ever dies theyll be really shit outta luck
Oh man... I hope Ross Scott is okay.
if Gordon's voice actor ever dies theyll be really shit outta luck
Gordon Freeman was the name of the VA for the original protagonist, Ivan. He died during development so they renamed the character and left him silent in tribute Not really though but sounds legit

Good bye you beautiful man
RIP, Valve reuses voice actors a lot, the hl2 citizen voice actor also voices the tf2 sniper, the voices of alyx, glados, kleiner, ms pauling, pyro/spy, heavy, alyx, gman/berney, citizens/sniper, and the vortigaunts all have roles in dota 2. Fun fact, ellen mclain (glados) and john patrick lowie (citizen/sniper) are married and valve didn't know for years.
:(
Triage at Dawn just perfectly represents the half-life franchise and any news relating to it.
Oh man... I hope Ross Scott is okay.
Ross Scott died of baked bean overdose this morning

IIRC valve stated they left it ambiguous because they didn't plan to use grigori in the future.
fuck who else is going to die? wes johnson? please dont let wes johnson die

Damn, he was my favorite animal, may he find peace
fuck who else is going to die? wes johnson? please dont let wes johnson die
I just hope Gordon's voice actor doesn't die anytime soon
fuck who else is going to die? wes johnson? please dont let wes johnson die
We'll probably see Gabe Newell die in the next few years
We'll probably see Gabe Newell die in the next few years
I hope any future games from them have the dev commentary, I want to hear Gabe say "thanks and have fun" again. His voice is strangely pleasant, he should do voice cameos in their games.

Aw man, I really loved his performances.
Never realized just how old he was. 89’s not a bad age to go, but still RIP.
