• City in Canada Has Pink Water After Disinfecting Agent Seeps Into Water Supply
Hundreds of people in Canada arrived home Monday evening to an unusual sight: bright pink liquid running out of their faucets. Despite its unusual hue, the fluid was neither fruit punch nor pink lemonade but city water that had been contaminated during a weekly treatment of the water lines, according to the city of Onoway in Alberta province, about 42 miles northwest of Edmonton. A disinfecting agent called potassium permanganate likely tainted the city's water supply through a valve that became stuck, allowing the fuchsia water to enter the distribution system, according to a notice posted to the official Onoway website on Monday. “We do a weekly flush and have done it for years and years, and nothing like this has ever happened before,” said Onoway Mayor Dale Krasnow, according to CTV News Edmonton. Atleast its not on the level of Flint MI.
People in Flint wish they were so lucky to only have pink water.
Yup. You don't want to drink that. It'll close up your airways like a peanut allergy and do a nasty little number on your G.I tract.
Yup. You don't want to drink that. It'll close up your airways like a peanut allergy and do a nasty little number on your G.I tract.
It's not that toxic, especially not when it's so dilute.

Flint's water is still fucked and the city officials have all but outright said "we're not fixing this." Yet this was fixed by the next day.
Fair enough, but you still don't want too much potassium permanganate in your body. Besides, it probably tastes awful.

Yeesh, imagine being blind or something and inadvertently drinking that. Would you be able to smell something's wrong?

Hey! Peptobismol.
Hey! Peptobismol.
This is why the Kool-Aid Guy should be careful about how he treats his liquid diarrhea.
at least its disinfected
Kinda reminds me of the time the water in my school had an orange tint, but they told us it was still safe to drink.
Hundreds of people in Canada arrived home Monday evening to an unusual sight: bright pink liquid running out of their faucets
' This is such a weird sentence, like it wasn't a national event it was contained to one area
Kinda reminds me of the time the water in my school had an orange tint, but they told us it was still safe to drink.
Probably iron. Our well water used to get orange before we got a good filter
Hah, that brings back some memories. Back in the day when I used to spend some time in my dad's ancestral village in Kerala, we'd have pink water that looked like this because it had Potassium Permanganate in it for purification. It doesn't taste any different, but it'd weird you out if you were used to clear drinking water. :v:
So that's how they spread the gay disease...
So that's how they spread the gay disease...
Is this the chemicals in the water that turn the freakin' frogs gay? :v:
What a weird way to celebrate women's day.
