I assume they are from a child that has gone missing a while ago and the person who was responsbile for its disappearance is more or less trying to return the remains. For a proper funeral and ...closure for the parents?

One more thing I've heard of more recently is an experimental procedure where organs from a dead baby were transplanted into animals and were allowed to grow. When an experiment was performed on rats with knocked out immune systems, the rats were able to survive for over 10 months with no ill effects. However, this second process has a lot of ethical ramifications and would certainly not pass muster from among the pro-life crowd, who're opposed to research on those grounds anyway, nor would it pass muster from animal rights organizations and many religious groups. A child casket full of children sized organs is Silent Hill levels of fucked up horror, and why is it just sitting in the street? I'm hoping this was an organ heist gone wrong at worst, and not something more insidious.

I'm wondering if this was just a case of grave defilement. Guy digs up a dead kid (there's one in the background of the picture), removes the organs and keeps the body itself, puts the organs inside the coffin and dumps it on the street. That's at least more bearable than the thought of a serial killer running around out there murdering kids. Or it is to me anyway.

My first thought was that this was some form of ~reaction art~ where someone bought pig organs and threw them in a casket. But its actually real child organs wtf

Also what purpose would they have for the body itself and not the organs? And I am pretty sure the whole process of embalming would make anything they got thats organic useless. Its a child coffin full of child organs dumped in front of a cemetery. Whoever did it obviously wanted it to be buried there.

When an autopsy is done on a person and they are prepared for a funeral, aren't their organs removed and placed in a sealed bag at the foot of the casket to aid in the preservation of the body along with everything else that is done in embalming? Could this be that? So essentially they could be looking for a stolen corpse, possibly from a funeral home because it's clear that casket hasn't seen dirt yet.

Organs are usually removed and the body is stuffed with cotton wool, newspaper, or other materials and then embalmed. The idea is to remove as much bacteria, waste products and such from the body as possible to slow decay which is rife in organs such as the intestines and can cause corpses to bloat and explode. The organs are usually cremated after removal. So a body theft is entirely plausible, could even have been a mother who wasn't ready to let go of her child yet.
