Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton (D) on Sunday said the bombing of a suburban mosque one day earlier was “an act of terrorism.” According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, Dayton and several other officials visited the mosque on Sunday, one day after someone threw a homemade explosive device through a window. "What a terrible, dastardly, cowardly act was committed," Dayton said, calling it a hate crime. "Anything I can do to put a stop to it, I would gladly do.”
Source
isn't it actually a hate crime though by definition?
Why can't it be both?
isn't it actually a hate crime though by definition?
For now. If the perpetrators sole motive is "doesnt like brown people" then yea. If the guys chasing a political goal like "brown people go back to Africa", then its terrorism. Its a completely arbitrary distinction to make either way. [editline]7th August 2017[/editline] Its the difference between life in prison, and life in prison.
