Not relevant to this article but to the two breaking stories in the US in the last hour. It’s almost convenient that this could play instead of the Paradise Papers on the US news cycles tonight. On the topic of this article, is this another racial shooting like the Dylann Roof one?
On the topic of this article, is this another racial shooting like the Dylann Roof one?
By the twitter videos, at least some of the congregation is white so I think it's unlikely. I think speculating over why this happened is pointless until more information comes out. MSNBC is reporting up to 24 fatalities according to the county commissioner: https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/several-casualties-reported-texas-church-shooting-n817751

It's to bad she wasn't armed. or anyone there. you would think someone in Texas would be. maybe they felt the church wasn't a place to carry. I hope not.
Religious hate crime?
Religious hate crime?
I'd say that the location is enough to assume that until proven otherwise?
Haha excellent observation my dude [sp]fuck off[/sp]
its not even ironic anymore, this is our new reality.
Is this still ongoing?
Is this still ongoing?
Shooter's dead.
Is this still ongoing?
No shooters dead
and? It's to bad she wasn't armed. or anyone there. you would think someone in Texas would be. maybe they felt the church wasn't a place to carry. I hope not.
Has this ever actually prevented or mitigated a mass shooting/terror attack before though? People say this yet in an event like this the last thing you'd want to do is start shooting. What if you're shooting someone else who is shooting at the first guy? Is that guy over there holding a pistol the source of all this? What do the police do when they arrive at the scene of an active shooting and everyone's running around with pistols out? If anything, wouldnt it make it worse?

Mother of God, that's awful...
Absolutely senseless.

Just local to this event, If I remember right, there was a story from Texas early this summer where a guy shot someone with two handguns and a bunch of knives who started shooting in a sports bar or similar.
its not even ironic anymore, this is our new reality.
if the shooter used illegally obtained guns you're going to look very very silly but good work politicizing, like the media does, what is nothing more than a horrible murder spree
Holy shit 27 dead, that's unbelievable.
its not even ironic anymore, this is our new reality.
The new reality is people fetishizing political sports to the point where a tragedy is an opportunity for political points. We are all going to hell.
if the shooter used illegally obtained guns you're going to look very very silly but good work politicizing, like the media does, what is nothing more than a horrible murder spree
Yup, nothing political here, just like the rest of the world right?
Christ what the fuck.
So, that's two mass shootings in less than a month and a half? Jesus this is horrifying
This is insanity. It's like no where is safe from gun wielding/pedestrian ramming madmen.
Gave me a mini heart attack because my parents aren't back from church yet. Damn I hate hearing about this stuff though. And the fact that the shooter so rarely lives to actually suffer the consequences of what they do. It's so aggravating.
This is insanity. It's like no where is safe from gun wielding/pedestrian ramming madmen.
These types of attacks could technically occur almost anywhere, so you're right in saying that nowhere is safe, I guess.
