Many have asked us about Stefán’s health, so I asked him to tell me about the state of affairs.
Stefán has been hospitalised for 14 days. On June 7, three liver tumours were removed. After the operation Stefan suffered an infection which lasted a week. and afterwards, he received an infection that lasted for a week in hospital. Stephen has bile-duct cancer (Cholangiocarcinoma), a rare and little-researched disease.
The disease is now advanced to stage four, and therefore, his life expectancy is unfortunately significantly reduced.
Medication is not in sight when the disease is so far gone. Experiments are being made with drugs and life-extending conventional and non-traditional therapies around the world. But the answers haven’t been found yet. Conventional chemotherapy also does not deliver results when this is the case.
Metastases of this disease can sometimes be removed by surgical procedures, such as the operation that Stephen went through, but it is unlikely that he will undergo more when they come back. Little can be predicted right now. We hope for the best.

FUCK
where is the happy ending after all the silence?
btw this is what they posted on gofundme
Friends and supporters,
This is the update I never wanted to write. During moments of distress and heartache, time can become a friend and ease us down the road from our pain. Our hearts become a little lighter and we allow ourselves to hope.
But as many of you know, cancer has its own agenda. Stefan's post-surgery diagnosis revealed devastating news - his condition has progressed to Stage 4. As his wife Steina said, "life expectancy is significantly impaired."
Despite the best efforts of his excellent Icelandic medical team, and Stefan's personal heroism, there is no apparent cure. There are always experimental processes, and they will be woven into the fabric of Stefan's care if at all possible.
But for now and the immediate future, family and friends are concentrating on being positive, giving Stefan whatever he needs to recover from his most recent surgery, and regain his energy for as long as possible.
He is an extraordinary man - do I need to tell you that? He is moving beyond fear to a courageous and practical frame of mind. He has plans for several projects which I am certain will delight his fans worldwide.
And so I come to the part of this message where I put on my fundraising hat. You have all been so generous and kind these past few months, as our running total will attest. Can you do more?
It's hard to ask, but that is my job and I'm going to keep asking until people start throwing rocks at me.
I want us to raise a staggering amount so that Stefan will not have to bear the additional worry of his family's future, at least in the short term.
Thank you for your kindness and your concern for our friend Stefan.
nooooooooooooooooooooo
Why is it always the people who don't deserve it and not like, some corrupt politician or something

Nobody deserves this, period.

People can be awful sometimes but wishing something as bad as cancer upon them is bit of a fucked up thing to say or think to the point it makes them look no better than the people they despise.

Cancer doesn't give two shits what kind of person you are.
As I posted in the other thread, we should set up a mini fund that Facepunchers can donate to and we can donate it either to his family or a cancer research fund in his name on behalf of all of Facepunch.
We need more meme magic, stat.
We need more meme magic, stat.
We need a new meme. An extremer memer. We need to raise so much dosh that we can literally take a chainsaw to the cancer growth and replace everything it takes out with flesh formed from ground up money.

ftfy
agree on all points tho
I think the best thing to do is to donate your money towards the Cancer Council or organisations/medical institutions trying to work out cures and treatments for various forms of cancer.
It's what I think the family would want, the money given to Stefan would more than likely be passed on to something like that anyway.

Death don't have no mercy.
Fuck, I found the whole meme thing a beautiful feat of brilliance granted upon a man who did NOTHING but bring as much joy to children (and, apparently, adults) as he could.
But we couldn't stop it. Fuck cancer. Fuck all of it. I will dance naked in the fucking street the day they can easily cure this horror story of a condition/disease.

you should be concerned for every life, no matter how badly it's been lived. I'll just leave it at that.
I sincerely hate to be this person, but
If you want to donate more to this man... don't. Donate it to an organization that is trying to stop this from happening in the future to anyone. There is nothing else that may be done for the man, not in terms of throwing money at the problem.
I hope the rest of Stefán’s days are the happiest he could ever have. I hope that he can go with a smile knowing he brought love and joy to the world. He's been a good man. People should aspire to be half as good a man as Stefán.
Fuck man this breaks my heart. I hope one day the human race can band together to find a way to prevent more people from being hurt by cancer. No one deserves this.

Pretty sure that the money that is being donated from this point on will go to ensure that his family is taken care of. Not to find a cure for him.
Jesus Christ I didn't know it had advanced so much. Cancer scares the shit out of me.
I'm hoping Robbie's final days are good, or as good as they can be in his situation.
If I'm reading articles right, he may only have 0.5-5 years left.
As sad as it is I was expecting this to happen, it's always a recovery with a sudden relapse and ultimately the inevitable.. And this is pancreatic cancer too, practically the worst kind.
I only hope he can live as happily as he can during his last years and hopefully defeat Sportacus too. That and let this raise more funds towards cancer research.
Cancer will be there forever as long as we have genes that can mutate and cells that replicate, but I'm sure prevention and detection/removal procedures will get better in a future and prevent more tragic cases
Fuck cancer right up it's fat ass
Fuckin hell, Robbie Rotten is my favorite character of the whole show. :frown:
To be fair I would shed no tears if Kim Jong Un had gotten this instead of Stefan.
I understand your sentiment, if given a button to inflict cancer on turbohitler I would never press it but if turbohitler suddenly contracted cancer I doubt I would feel bad for them.
Stephan though, poor guy, he did the best he could for the world and while I never watched his shows it was nice to see that people like him exist. I hope a cure can be found but at the very VERY least I hope he gets to use the time he has left to tie up any loose ends and spend the rest of it regret free.
It's sad he is probably going to die young, at the very least I hope he dies happy.

Some people deserve just a little bit of cancer. Like a demo.

No

I mean, all they have to do is listen to you if they want that.
Imagine if it was possible to give cancer as a form of criminal punishment. It's real evident some sick fucks would do it. :/

Hopefully it's more on the latter end, so he can spend more time with his family.
