Note: If you haven't watched Arrow, but are interested, just start from the Pilot. The episodes follow a sort-of linear format, which means that the episodes tie in to each other almost every episode What is it? Arrow is a 2012 television show based on DC's Green Arrow, chronicling the events he faced during, and after being on a deserted Mandarin island. Almost every episode is littered with references to the outside DC universe, despite superpowers being about as realistic as they are in this world Who are the cast? [T]http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120529124161/marvel_dc/images/0/03/Oliver_Queen_Arrow_003.png[/T] The Hood aka Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) After 5 years of being shipwrecked on a deserted Mandarin island, where events occurred that ended with him being scarred on over 20% of his body, Oliver Queen returns from the grave as a different man. A man with a score to settle; to end the reign of the corrupt in his city, Starling City. Using an old fashioned bow-and-arrow combo he practiced on the island, he sets out to right the wrongs of those who have poisoned his city. [T]http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20120529124457/marvel_dc/images/6/67/Dinah_Laurel_Lance_Arrow_002.png[/T] Dinah "Laurel" Lance (Katie Cassidy) Laurel is a lawyer in Starling City, fighting the battle against the corrupt elite. Traumatized over the death of her sister on her own boyfriends boat, she's developed a grudge over her now-ex boyfriend over the years, despite being overjoyed at his return. Currently romantically involved with Thomas Merlyn [T]http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121127080820/marvel_dc/images/6/67/Thea_Queen_Arrow_002.jpg[/T] Thea "Speedy" Dearden Queen (Willa Holland) Thea was hit hard by her brothers disappearance and presumed death, turning into a problem child, a raving party girl and an addict to the street drug "Vertigo". [T]http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121011091132/marvel_dc/images/b/ba/John_Diggle_Arrow_TV_Series_002.jpg[/T] John Diggle (David Ramsey) Diggle is Oliver's personal bodyguard - and is well aware of his double life as The Vigilante. His status as The Heart of the team has influenced Oliver into taking less-than-lethal approaches to those he fights. Currently holds a large grudge against Floyd Lawton for the murder of his brother [T]http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121011091003/marvel_dc/images/d/dc/Tommy_Merlyn_Arrow_TV_Series_002.jpg[/T] Thomas "Tommy" Merlyn (Colin Donnell) Tommy's been Oliver's best friend for years, treating the Queens as a second family after his mother's death and his father's disappearance. He gets treated like crap by everyone. But to be fair, it makes for good comedy. [T]http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130221131856/marvel_dc/images/d/dc/Roy_Harper_Arrow_TV_Series_002.png[/T] Roy Harper (Colton Haynes) Growing up in the Glades, Starling City's impoverished side, was tough on Roy Harper, forcing him to turn to small-time robbery to avoid living on the streets. This has found him at odds with Thea Queen, who currently has a love/hate relationship with him, mostly due to their conflicting attitudes. [T]http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130214022559/marvel_dc/images/2/21/Slade_Wilson_Arrow_TV_Series_001.jpg[/T] Slade Wilson / Deathstroke (Manu Bennett) A member of the Australian Intelligence Agency, Slade Wilson ended up shipwrecked on Lian Yu with his partner, Billy Wintergreen. They were attacked by a man named Edward Fyers, who asked them to join him. Billy didn't hesitate. Slade did, and as such, has been hunted down by mercenaries for months, slaughtering them in the masses before they even get the drop on him. [T]http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20121004204919/marvel_dc/images/c/cb/Felicity_Smoak_Arrow_001.png[/T] Felicity Smoak (Emily Rickards) IT Specialist at Queen Consolidated, Felicity found out about Oliver's secret after he crawled to her car after being shot by his own Mother. It's a long, boring story, just watch the episodes. [T]http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130117093418/marvel_dc/images/7/73/The_Count_Arrow_TV_Series_001.png[/T] The Count (Seth Gabel) A flamboyant drug lord, The Count earned his nickname after testing his drug "Vertigo" on dozens of homeless and prostitutes, injecting them with a double syringe directly in the neck. [T]http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130411075559/marvel_dc/images/e/e8/Floyd_Lawton_Arrow_TV_Series_002.jpg[/T] Floyd Lawton / Deadshot A brilliant mercenary and assassin, Floyd Lawton was nicknamed "Deadshot" by Interpol. His bullets are laced with the curare poison, allowing him to kill his victims with a single hit even if he doesn't hit any vital organs. Episode recommendations? As only 19 episodes have aired thus far, its hard to nail down recommendations, but, this is a list detailing the many DC Characters that are seen in Arrow. I'll put up a detailed "Reference Guide" for each episode, soon China White - 1.02, 1.16 Deadshot - 1.03, 1.16 The Royal Flush Gang - 1.06 Huntress - 1.07, 1.08, 1.17 Dark Archer - 1.09 Firefly - 1.10 Blackhawk - 1.11 Count Vertigo - 1.12 Dodger - 1.15 Brutale - 1.16 Other useful links This must be seen to be believed.
I'm quite liking this series. It has its flaws (mediocre acting by some of the side-cast for instance). Besides that I like the Green Arrow as 'superhero' more than I had imagined.
the best part of this show are the flashbacks imo its still good though in its modern setting but the island scenes are great
Recently started watching, good show.
It's a good show. I hope it's part of the DC cinematic universe and isn't retconned. It has some problems though. It's rehashed Nolan Batman to the extreme at times. Also the cast seems to be entirely beautiful people. Everybody in this could double as a model. Also I don't like this idea of calling him 'The Hood'. He's fucking The Green Arrow. It's just a random attempt at realism. But it's good fun. I've tuned in every week. [editline]25th April 2013[/editline] Also while I really liked Seth Gabel in Fringe, here he was horrible. Really trying too hard. Don't know why they made him essentially into Scarecrow either.
Also the cast seems to be entirely beautiful people. Everybody in this could double as a model.
That's a prerequisite for every show on the CW. I haven't seen Supernatural yet, but it holds true for Arrow, Cult, and the Vampire Diaries. By the way, what happened to the old thread?
old thread's dead But check out this sweet ass picture [t]http://i.imgur.com/CRvbV2c.jpg[/t]
old thread's dead But check out this sweet ass picture [t]http://i.imgur.com/CRvbV2c.jpg[/t]
Thats green lantern, not green arrow... Also I might pick it up this summer, I see that Colton Haynes is there. (From Teen Wolf).
This show started off pretty eh with me. Just "Whatever, the green arrow story as told by a Nolan wannabe". As I keep watching though, this show just gets better and better. I can't think of any specific turning point when I actually started to love this show though, its just been a gradual thing. Also, one thing I was not expecting at all was the island side story to become the more interesting plot. Not that the main story isn't interesting but shit, ever since Slade got introduced. Also Roy is fun to watch fight, I hope he becomes a more main character soon.
Can't wait for episode 22.

It felt like a massive Nolan wannabe and then suddenly it got really good. I can still see the Nolan wannabe in some of the villains and relationships but overall it's really good.
Really, no one wants to discuss this latest episode? So much shit just got real and we're letting this thread sink? [sp]That Tommy backstabbing, that complete fuck you to mom, that fight, that reveal of the hood's identity, that weird James Bond like segment... does anyone realize he just left his little grappling hook thing hanging there in the elevator shaft?[/sp] This season finale is going to be good, and they're already setting up season 2 which they announced will have more DC characters. The Question anyone?
I stopped watching episode 19, for some reason I was sure it was the final, oh well, the good news is I have 2 new episodes to watch tonight!

Just finished the finale, and my god was it good. Very good way to wrap up season one and leaves plenty to explore in season 2.
Oh wow, that finale was great. This show got so much better than I originally expected it to be. [sp]I didn't like how everyone kept standing around to have personal moments when there is a fucking earthquake about to happen.[/sp]
I thought this was going to be a really lame. I'm glad to be proven wrong. One thing I don't like though, is how he's always called "The Hood" or "The Vigilante". Overall, Season 1 was better than expected and I'm looking forward to Season 2.
[sp]TOMMY :'([/sp]
Well that was a Pyrrhic victory if I've ever seen one...
I was afraid for a while that [sp]the earthquake wasn't going to go off and we'd all have a happy ending living happily ever after.[/sp] Happy to see the show had the balls to prove me wrong, actually sets something up for season 2 now.
Felicity is really fucking hot. That is all.
I naturally assumed that [sp]There would be two of them, also Im glad they didnt finish the island scenes[/sp]
[sp]So am I, but I never feared they would end now, what has been shown happening on the island is at most a years length, maybe less from what it seems, so there's still plenty for them to show[/sp]

I just realised something about Slade [sp]When Oliver gets off the island, you see a scene with the an arrow through a black and yellow mask, slade and Billy both used those, slade kills billy, so wouldn't it only be logic if that was Slade's mask? Why would Slade's mask be there, unless archer oliver fights slade[/sp]

Maybe they did it for a reason.[/sp]
[sp]Well Slade has always been known as Deathstroke, it was an odd choice to make him the good guy in S1. Maybe they did it for a reason.[/sp]
[sp]To be fair, for a while now Slade Wilson/Deathstroke has been an inbetweener when it comes to being a good or bad guy.[/sp]
Something else that bothers me about Slade: [sp]When it was just him and Oliver, after the part where Oliver resceus Slade because he was shot in his leg, he was all like 'You did good you've earned my respect' and when they have Shadow, he's like 'nah Oliver is pretty useless, I've tried to train him but no succes'[/sp]
[sp]I'm pretty sure Slade is a villain in the comics or something, he's going to betray Oliver at some point in the flashbacks, that's my guess[/sp]
I hope not, I really like him.
