Burnout Paradise first came out in 2008 and saw a few years’ worth of success as an open-world racing game, with challenges on pretty much every corner of the map, and a ton of new cars to add to your garage. Recently, the game saw a resurgence, thanks to Electronic Arts adding it to Xbox One’s backward compatibility program. But that might have been a bigger success than anyone expected, as it appears that the company is hard at work on a possible Remastered version for Xbox One and PlayStation 4. A report from Brazilian based gaming blog GamePress indicates that a retailer listing for Burnout Paradise Remastered recently popped up, showing a release date of March 1, 2018 for both the PS4 and Xbox One versions. The game is listed at a price of 149.90 Brazilian Real, which comes out to $45 – so that could actually be an erroneous listing, with the general price reportedly going down to around $30. Neither EA nor Criterion Games have responded to the rumor, which isn’t really a surprise. After all, the companies are hard at work on Star Wars: Battlefront II, since Criterion is handling the development of vehicular battles in the game.
WWG, this is the only English site atm Yeah so about a collection of 1/2/Takedown/Revenge on Switch/Xbone/PS4, instead EA? Or are you doing this to "gauge interest" then claim "Well, no one bought it! Back to the IP freezer with you!"
I wonder if the soundtrack will return, since music for videogames is often licensed only for a short period of time.

fuuuuuck please come to PC, I loved the shit out of this game for several years after it came out
fuuuuuck please come to PC, I loved the shit out of this game for several years after it came out
I was always rather surprised that EA of all companies chose *not* to release all of the DLC on windows... consoles are the only place you can play the big surf island expansion, which was rather good imo.

Still, I need this. I unlocked every car in the game TWICE. One of my favorite games of all time.
I wonder if the soundtrack will return, since music for videogames is often licensed only for a short period of time.
A Burnout game without the licensed music isn't a Burnout game at all. Now if only I liked anything else this band did.

If this is true then I guess Suda will be too busy playing this to finish No More Heroes 3.
Burnout Paradise was awesome. It was simply carefree, mindless joy, nailing what's fun about cars without getting bogged down by stuff like race stages, tuning, realistic handling, careful brand handling etc. I'd definitely consider buying an HD version if it came to PC.
I replayed it recently and it's as fun as I remember. Only gripe with the PC version is that Big Surf Island never officially made it into the game.
The only thing I didn't like about Paradise was how there was like 5 finish locations, and even though it was freeroam, certain routes were clearly the best option, so the races felt really repetitive. Also I preferred the old crash mode to rolling wreck or whatever it was called.
I just got done replaying it a month ago and it was as hype as ever. I hope this turns out to be real - and hopefully it makes its way to PC
Big Surf Island not being on PC was a crying shame. Probably remains high on my "best DLC/add-ons of all time" list.
#1 Game of 2008 to "Most Likely Make You Hate the Song 'Paradise City'"
I wonder if the soundtrack will return, since music for videogames is often licensed only for a short period of time.
I hope not. I got fucking tired of having to mute the game when I launched it.
There were ways of getting big surf on PC, even for MP. It was a little hacky but it worked. A few years ago we spent hours drifting through the spiral parking garage and punting each other's cars off of buildings.
Yeah I used Vanity Pack for Big Surf on PC. Had more cars n shit too
Fuck, I loved the game and would love to see an HD remake. Though I'm fine with no music as I tended to just mute it and blast synthwave/outrun.
The Burnout series introduced me to a bunch of my favorite bands. Specifically Burnout Revenge, best licensed soundtrack IMO. takedown best.
This needs to happen on PC. Takedown and Revenge were fantastic. Oh, and while you're at it, how about releasing HD remakes of Underground 2, Most Wanted and Carbon? Or at the very least put the originals on Origin. For fuck sakes, I'll give you money for them.
I played Paradise City a while ago on PC, it gave me an ungodly amount of entertainment before I was finished with it. I never once touched the online features (I mean I just assumed it was a dead game so I didn't know if people were on it) and I had no idea that there was any DLC for it at all. I really hope it makes its way here. I'd buy the hell out of it.
I was always rather surprised that EA of all companies chose *not* to release all of the DLC on windows... consoles are the only place you can play the big surf island expansion, which was rather good imo.
You can play Big Surf on PC. There's a thing called the "Vanity Pack", a mod, that even lets you play with the civilian cars and stuff. Yes, that includes the bus. [editline]15th December 2017[/editline] Now please, can we get Burnout 1 2 and 3 on PC too? Didn't really like Revenge as much because of the traffic check nonsense.
No way it won't be terrible. Did you guys forget who owns the Burnout IP? This will be like CoD4:Remastered but somehow even worse
Such a shame the DLC is unobtainable now. Some of them were real fun.
Wow, this is a game I didn't expect to hear about again. Loved this shit, and was also a PC user who was eagerly awaiting Big Surf only to be left out in the cold. Game went from a 9.5/10 to an 11/10 for me when they added the knockoff DeLorean that could actually hover and create flame trails. That better be in the new version. Kind of weird that they're calling it "HD", though. Isn't it already HD? I remember that game looking very pretty while also running really smooth even on mid-tier PCs.
I wonder if the soundtrack will return, since music for videogames is often licensed only for a short period of time.
maybe I'm wrong on this, but couldn't you in theory just relicense the music? or is there some issue preventing that?
