If it has Gareth Evans behind the camera (and script) then holy shit I am so on board with this. Fingers crossed the entire project doesn't implode like most DC films tend to do.
Deathstroke is really easy to make boring and generic so I hope this can be done right.
If anything it'll be one hell of an action movie.
Deathstroke is really easy to make boring and generic so I hope this can be done right.
i dont think the word "boring" is in Gareth Evans' vocabulary apparently he has a new film coming out on Netflix soon so I guess I'll wait to see that before I say it with certainty, but right now if this film actually does come out then it is going to be fucking awesome. So much more so if it's rated R. plz god be rated R
Anyone who hasn't seen Raid 1 and 2 are legit doing themselves a disservice. Some of the most brutal and well choreographed fights I've ever seen.
yay? please be yay
The Raid and Raid 2 are some of the most beautifully choreographed movies and there is not a single boring moment in them except for maybe the first 3-5 minutes, and the last 3-5 minutes. That is also relatively speaking to the rest of the movie...

ok yea now that i've said that about the rating I'm holding back hype until I hear confirmation of an R rating. Surely after Wolverine and Deadpool the studio execs know what the right play is with a film centered around a fucking assassin. God please don't be stupid and make this PG13.

Fuck Yeah Slade, what a creepy fuck in TT.
So are we doing this with his kids? Dr. Light? Is he against this Titans, Teen Titans, Batman or Green Arrow?
The DC Extended Univese seems to be slowly transforming into a Batman and Friends Cinematic Universe. We've got Suicide Squad 2, Nightwing, Gotham City Sirens, Joker: Origins, and now this Deathstroke movie all supposedly in development. Who knows how many of these will actually happen, but this strikes me as eerily similar to the trajectory of the DC animated direct to DVD movies - which also started out a lot more diverse in their character selection, but currently nothing but Batman team-up adventures with the occasional side of Justice League. It seems Warner Brothers only knows one trick: "try something new, then fall back to Batman if it fails."

Only thing I'm worried about is Iko Uwais did the fight and action choreography (also acted as main character) for Raid 1 and Raid 2. Not sure how that will affect this since Evans sure as shit knows what he's doing, but I want more of good ol Uwais.
hey, all these people in the thread who haven't seen The Raid watch The Raid anyway Deathstroke has a fucking sick look in the comics and i seriously hope it translates well to the big screen, don't know much about the character other than the look and the whole killing-people-thing but i feel like it has potential, especially with Gareth Evans at the helm
I have high hopes, Gareth Evans knows how to do a kick ass action movie. Proof- The Raid. The Raid is an amazing movie that everyone should watch. Watch it with Subtitles- the dubs are laughably atrocious and completely ruins the movie.
