Vanity Fair was lucky enough to receive an invite to the set of Avengers 4 recently and got to see the likes of Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Mark Ruffalo on set together shooting scenes. When the magazine caught up with Chris Hemsworth, he mentioned just how significant a moment it was seeing all these cast members together. Why? Well, because it's probably going to the last time for them! "I thought, Could somebody take a photo of this?" the actor said. "We’re all aware that this is going to be the last time we get to hang out like this." That's a point emphasised by Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige as he says that Avengers 4 will, "bring things you’ve never seen in superhero films: a finale." Confirming that means we could see the deaths of many key characters, he added that this movie will split the Marvel Cinematic Universe into two; what came before and what came after. "There will be two distinct periods. Everything before Avengers 4 and everything after. I know it will not be in ways people are expecting." That's something which is reiterated by Disney boss Bob Iger as he notes that the MCU is about to expand in a huge way. "We’re looking for worlds that are completely separate—geographically or in time—from the worlds that we’ve already visited." Not convinced that's possible? It turns out Feige has some huge plans. "22 movies in, and we’ve got another 20 movies on the docket that are completely different from anything that’s come before—intentionally," he teases, making it clear that this shared world is going nowhere any time soon...
CBM Vanity Fair article [t]http://i.imgur.com/Drl7dTw.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/yAAZ7Co.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/p9SNwyU.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/hWBNS8e.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/aEWTNmg.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/sCBJ2td.jpg[/t][t]http://i.imgur.com/kjocuXz.jpg[/t] The MCU will be turning 10 years old next year, which started with the release of 2008's Iron Man.
Half of those promo pics are bullshit. Old costumes mixed with new ones, [sp] Cap has his shield and no beard, Thor has Mjolnir and both eyes. [/sp]
holy shit its been 10 years
I like how you've got many of the actors there in costume and looking like their characters. Then Robert Downey Jr. is just there looking like Robert Downey Jr.
Probably not to spoil appearances or Chris Evans already shaved and they can't CGI it back on.
It's just a really jarring mish-mash of old and new. Weird.

That's why he's been such a great Tony Stark, because he's just been himself and had freedom with it to a good extent.
Maybe they're finally going to singular tales that has no overarching major plot. Maybe. cause we still have a lot of films that tease stuff which will most likely be in a direct sequel, like in Doctor Strange and Spider Man: Homecoming. People are already tired of the Thanos hinting throughout the entire decade, so having a "new villain" like Galactus or something would be rehashing and tiring.
My biggest hope for the MCU has always been for it to, eventually, split off into niche territory. Most content would still be the same old milquetoast quippiness Marvel is known for, but every once in a while we'd get a full blown spy movie, or a horror flick, or a western. Pretty much exactly what Fox did with Deadpool and Logan
20?! jesus
endless fucking marvel movies. this won't get tiresome at all. just like with the countless star wars movies. i am well aware that there will be other movies released as well, but jesus christ.

Whereas other films series get super shitty.
What? It's going to end? I'm actually genuinely surprised.

Thor 3 was a huge step in the right direction and because it actually made money at the box office, they'll probably attempt more weird stuff now.
They're already filming an avengers for after Infinity War? They better have come up with some seriously different shit.
I still think that best plan is[sp] first infinity war pt1 dealing with thanos gathering stones and succesfully using them to create battleworld with altered superheroes. pt2 is about key character uniting warped versions of avengers of battleworld to fight Thanos and in the end they restore Universe back to normal albeit with sliiight alterations to allow recastings, retcons etc[/sp]
aww yea female Thor incoming [t]http://i.imgur.com/zpS0AoT.jpg[/t]
"no" [t]https://i.imgur.com/euG3N6i.png[/t]
Thankfully Portman hates marvel and we'll never see Jane again so that shit can't happen

I'd see that[/sp]
endless fucking marvel movies. this won't get tiresome at all. just like with the countless star wars movies. i am well aware that there will be other movies released as well, but jesus christ.
The thing with Star Wars is that its all in a general sci-fi setting, though it could definitely be varied, the Marvel stuff has properties on street level, international level, full on cosmic, and Dr. Strange tier interdimensional stuff. Marvel, being a shared universe of comic book properties amassed over 80 years, has a lot of variety in terms of tone and scale. You could do something like Infinity War or you could do Moon Knight, who's a mentally ill vigilante with multiple split personalities who may or may not be the avatar of a moon god (who's jelly of Punisher) but goes around beating up thugs and addicts. Also cut a guys face off once. The problem these films have been having is having similar structures and overall some weak villains. They need to let the tonal variety that the comics have happen in the films more, like how Logan is a western compared to Deadpools action comedy. [editline]27th November 2017[/editline]
20?! jesus
Theres hundreds of properties they could test out that havent even seen live action yet. I assume those 20 include some sequels too though.
I want to see some Star Wars/Marvel crossover eventually.
"no" [t]https://i.imgur.com/euG3N6i.png[/t]
You're both wrong. We don't need a new Thor as long as Chris Hemsworth still is interested in doing Marvel movies. Now that they finally have a crowd-pleasing formula (Ragnarok) and a stylish director, Thor 4 with Odinson holding the mantle is very likely. Beta Ray Bill should be a supporting character in the next film, though.
Beta Ray Bill was going to be Ragnarok but they didn't want him as a cameo and want to give him a bigger role
Lol what's going on with Hawkeye's hair
They've already started straying into new territory with Thor Ragnarok so, and I never thought I'd say this, I'm pretty excited to see what Marvel come up with.
I have to say that although there are a shit ton of Marvel films they're staying pretty good, like the latest Thor was fantastic. Whereas other films series get super shitty.
Spiderman: Homecoming was also a rather pleasant surprise. I wasn't interested in watching it all, but finally got around to it last weekend. They actually managed to capture the comic book spiderman, which neither of the previous attempts really pulled off. That, and [sp]the villain was not a villain on a huge scale, and the scene where he opens the door at Liz's place was one of the first times a film surprised the fuck outta me in ages[/sp] newest thor was indeed fantastic, too
20 more movies
How about maybe try this Don't set a number and just produce good quality product until such time as you have burnout and turnover.
I'M A MONSTER!!!
Broccoli Hands was always my favorite tragic superhero
How about maybe try this Don't set a number and just produce good quality product until such time as you have burnout and turnover.
It read to me more like they've already planned out what movies they want to do and what stories they want to tell- not like they arbitrarily decided some high number and rolled with it for no reason.
