I posted this in the charlottesville thread too. Doxxing isn't an attack on a person's freedom of speech. It's removing their anonymity which they technically do not have a right to. If people are afraid of being associated with the shitty things they say online, or rallies they attend, then that's their own problem. Freedom of speech only protects against government repercussion, not from social consequence and not from private entities. Everything you post on social media is public domain.

Basically the 1st amendment protects you from the government, not from people finding out you are racist and people have every right to expose you. Threatening to reveal someone's free speech is itself free speech. It might be a shitty thing to do, but so is being a racist slime.

Doxxing has never been illegal. That's what private investigators do. I can pay a PI to dig dirt on you and then use it against you and that's perfectly legal.

The fact that you have to argue for the legality of doxxing kinda brings up the morality of it by itself.

I understand the point he's trying to make. I personally find it hard to believe every single person there genuinely buys into the garbage they're spouting 100%.
