Justin Bieber banned from China for 'bad behavior'
Canadian pop star Justin Bieber has been banned from performing in China, according to Beijing's Culture Bureau.
In a statement, the ministry said it was not appropriate to allow in entertainers who have engaged in "bad behaviour."
"Justin Bieber is a gifted singer, but he is also a controversial young foreign singer," it added.
The statement was issued in response to a question recently submitted by a user of the bureau's website.
"We hope that as Justin Bieber matures, he can continue to improve his own words and actions, and truly become a singer beloved by the public," the statement said.
"Justin Bieber is a gifted singer, but he is also a controversial young foreign singer," the bureau told the fan in a statement. "In order to maintain order in the Chinese market and purify the Chinese performance environment, it is not suitable to bring in badly behaved entertainers.

Bieber's bad behaviour in the USA, which included an arrest for drunk driving and a strange incident in which he urinated in a janitor's bucket and yelled "F--- Bill Clinton!" at a portrait of the former president, didn't result in much diplomatic intervention, but his offensive behaviour during his last Chinese tour created national outrage in the country.
Along with being carried up the Great Wall of China by his bodyguards (an image of which resulted in a bombardment of international mockery), Bieber was also filmed skateboarding through the streets of Beijing while being pursued by his entourage.
I mean, they're not wrong when they say he needs to mature but this bit right here:

Ah yes, Justin Bieber is too impure for China, they wouldn't want his bad behavior tainting people before the next dog meat festival.

Different cultures eat different things, who would have guessed?
Americans don't tend to eat horse but plenty of people in the rest of the world do.
Americans eat a lot of pork, plenty of the rest of the world don't.
Title made me think he wasn't allowed to enter the country lmao
Thank you China for sudden trip into 2012, when it was hip and cool to hate Beiber

It's kinda one of those cases of, either all of it is OK, or none of it is OK.

Chinese don't eat dog, that's a Korean thing and is becoming less common these days anyway.

Eating dog is common in the Cantonese parts of southern mainland China.

yeah but in china they boil the fucking dogs alive because they think the fear makes them taste better
if it was humane slaughter you'd be right, and don't get me wrong I believe this festival is illegal, but nevertheless it still occurs. chinese culture is not just weird, parts of it are objectively disgusting

They're also skinned alive. It's really not just some "different culture" thing that we need to respect but fuck it, FP wants to virtue signal.

We have a burger chain that's literally all horse meat :v: it's pretty good, I was actually surprised when someone told me they kind of don't want to go eat there because their girlfriend hates the idea of people eating horse meat as it is immoral or something similar to that. I can see the logic but the thought didn't really cross my mind.
Good luck in North Korea, Justine.
Horse meat is quite tasty actually. You should definitely try it!

That dogmeat torture festival is something only the uneducated northern countrymen do AFAIK. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure that it's shunned by most Chinese
I am so confused by Bieber at this stage.
Is he going through his angsty teenage phase still? I thought he got over that.
