I hope Prey wins best action game, but wish it was in narrative instead. Was a wonderful small surprise next to the other behemoths released this year.

PUBG is not game of the year material tbh Also glad to see Prey was nominated for something, that game turned out to be incredible. Definitely in my top 3 for 2017.

I hope Rainbow Six: Siege or Overwatch wins best on-going game, but knowing the way things have been PUBG will get it out of popularity.

Nier Automata should take PUBG's place in the GOTY section also apparently they're doing a student game thing where Kojima, Todd Howard, and a few other devs are judging games made by high schoolers

I can't wait till XV somehow beats literally anything else in the RPG section despite... being XV

PUBG doesn't belong on this list because it's not a finished product, and even if it was, it's really only eligible for the "Best Chinese Game" because that's where their main playerbase is.

I'm just glad Tooth and Tail got nominated. It's really easy for it to slip under the radar, but in reality it's a very solid RTS, great campaign, balanced PvP with continuous dev attention, tons of depth, probably the most accessible game in the genre. There's no way in hell it will win next to... literally everything on the list Halo Wars 2 included, but to me it's definitely a highlight of more than just this year.

It's not great. It's fun as hell but the actual game and story they tried to make is very clearly duct taped together from whatever the team was making after 10 years.

I feel like some of these are going to be obvious wins, like cuphead winning art direction, nier winning best narrative, and best game direction being breath of the wild. Still, I'm sure it'll be interesting to watch.

Cuphead needs to win best Art Direction. There has quite literally never been anything nearly as visually pleasing as that game ever.
