especially in the intro it was nothing but a roaring bunch of guns on legs, and later on it had the propeller hand which obviously was amazing

and it was fucking huge too. remember the forest scene in the sequel? the thing was TOWERING over Optimus, it might have been larger than Megatron even

I still can't get over Optimus having hot rod paint job. And Decepticons looking so complicated they almost look like each other. Actually, the problem is transformers aren't really the focus, they are really just there to make things explode. That's why 90% of Decepticons have henchman level of development.

And the action isn't even that good, 3 was boring as fuck.

i thought the Deceps in 1 were all quite different, even if they all had dull colors and looked dark and evil

it was 2 that kicked the clone army thing to overdrive when Megatron started spamming protoforms in the Egypt battle. and even they were pathetic mooks that got whacked to pieces by only slightly modified human weapons, hell IIRC one went down from rifle fire. at least the baddies in 1 were big and mean, especially Blackout

what ever happened to Barricade tho? mr. Police Car isn't on screen after the highway scenes in 1

oh god i accidentally hit disagree

primus forgive me!

also of note, i kind of feel that the reason bay made all the decepticons gray and black was to give them a more military-like style, considering megatron was like a dictator. in return, the autobots are all colorful and clearly united to represent their independence and friendship and stuff like that.

basically, transformers is an allegory of WW2, at least in michael bay's head.

which means explosions and cool shit every five seconds.

After escaping TF1, Barricade actually comes in TF3. He's the one that shoots the scientist autobot, but is also killed when the soldiers plant explosives on their legs.
