Don Catchen said the corpse caused flames to engulf one of his units in the city of Cincinnati. The fat in the body burned at a higher temperature, prompting the blaze, said the city fire chief. The blog Confessions of a Funeral Director describes a blaze resulting from the cremation of a morbidly obese person as a "grease fire". No other parts of the building were damaged, Mr Catchen said. The fire was contained to the garage where the crematory unit is located, he told BBC News. The fire began at 21:40 (01:40 GMT) on Wednesday and took about two hours to put out, Mr Catchen told local news outlet WCPO. "My operator was in the process of cremating remains and [the body] was overly obese and apparently it got a little hotter than the unit is supposed to get," Mr Catchen added.
BBC

God I gotta lose weight
this isn't even the first time this has happened
You what's strange they did that during the war, The fat from bodies was used to make soap among other things.
This is a bit of myth. It was spread by the British in ww1, then again in ww2 it was believed soap was mass-produced from the nazi concentration camps. I think there's evidence german researchers developed a process so that they could make soap but mostly it was just a myth to scare inmates I think.

To the brits that referred to cadaver, i.e. human corpses. The Germans used horse corpses for that.
To think that some obese people say that their weight is no one else's problem but their own. I'm pretty sure this grease fire is not the first of its kind, and that emergency personnel/coroners/nurses can really injure themselves working with enormous bodies.
this is what happens when you go against the dead person's wishes to be cremated

They'd collect whatever trickled down and just throw it back on the pile of bodies.
There was an episode of law and order where they tried to figure out how this really fat person's body completely disapeared when they died and they just caught fire like a candle from being so fat. You can actually use bacon grease to make candles but I highly don't reccomend that.
