• Three Chicago Cops Charged With Conspiracy to Cover Up Laquan McDonald Killing
In the hours and days after Chicago Police Officer Jason Van Dyke shot a 17-year-old boy to death, his fellow cops allegedly did all they could to make it seem as if he'd done nothing wrong. That included falsely stating that the victim had assaulted the officers, ignoring witnesses who saw things differently and giving misleading descriptions of what video showed of the shooting, authorities charged on Tuesday. As a result of those accounts, the shooting was deemed justified. But the video, which the city resisted releasing to the public for a year, blew that conclusion apart, exposing the alleged cover-up and forcing authorities to file murder charges against Van Dyke.
Amazing how the city tried their best to hide the video just to protect a bunch of corrupt cops. This happens way more then you think. http://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/three-chicago-cops-charged-conspiracy-cover-laquan-mcdonald-killing-n777306
Looks like you forgot your source, homie
This happens way more then you think.
what are some other recent examples of this happening

Give me a break lmao
Watch the dashcam. It's not exactly a murder. It's a teen with a knife walking towards an officer and ignoring them. Corrupt police departments twist the stories, they definitely did it here. But to call this murder? If you carry a lethal weapon and refuse to drop it if several officers are pointing their guns at you, whatever's coming to you is all your fault. [editline]28th June 2017[/editline] In fact, your actions here are no better than theirs. You too are twisting this story by not releasing the full story and showing the parts that make the officers seem like murderers. [editline]28th June 2017[/editline] I hope you're going to act a lot more responsible when you are a security guard in a few weeks. Unless that all was just a lie in the other thread to manipulate people.

I also posted the whole article link, rules dictate that i cant quote the whole article. Im not twisting any story, the cops are caught lying and covering up a shooting that they know wasnt justified. Or atleast it wasnt justified enough so they want to make sure the victim appears much more guilty then really is. I'm going to leave this here: http://imgur.com/gallery/HYvzw IMO, there are some police officers out there who shouldn't be police officers, and who immediately react to a passive resistant person with over-aggressive, and sometimes lethal, force. While discretion is left to the officers at the scene, it should be understood that those officers should be outright removed from their position if they are at fault in order to avoid outraging the community they are supposed to protect and serve. In addition, just because individuals who wear the badge get into trouble doesn't mean that badge should shield them from punishment. Prosecute negligent officers to the full extent of the law when required. Many police departments are good at recognizing this, others aren't. [editline]28th June 2017[/editline] The security video fiasco was the fucking cherry on top. The manager of a nearby Burger King reported that several police officers had walked in, asking to see their security tapes. Being a responsible citizen, he said 'of course.' He logged them in, and let them do their thing. The next day, investigators went to the same Burger King and asked to see the video. The manager on duty complied. Sure enough... 86 minutes of footage were missing. Guess which 86 minutes. The officers denied it left and right... having forgotten to delete the footage... of them deleting the footage. (Which NBC would later show screenshots of) Naturally, both Anita Alvarez (then State's Attorney) and Gary McCarthy (then police superintendent) denied it. Both have since resigned. just watched the video and its fucking disgusting what they do. He's laying there already shot and they wait a few seconds then give him some more shots. The cop executed him with five bullets while he was on the ground. Nothing debatable. It's murder.
While I generally try to support police instead of being one of those naive people that just says "fuk the police" and call people "bootlickers" instead of looking at incidents with an open mind but the teen was hardly walking towards them when he was shot. And was only shot when he did that little spin. Like yeah he needs to listen to the police orders instead of ignoring them but the officers didn't seem to be in any immediate danger at the time of the shooting. Maybe the argument could be made that he was spinning to throw the knife but if that was the case they wouldn't need to do all this covering up.
I am definitely not saying the police are innocent here, just that this article only shows one side of it. It contains a bit of the dashcam footage, but doesn't mention it anywhere.
I am definitely not saying the police are innocent here, just that this article only shows one side of it. It contains a bit of the dashcam footage, but doesn't mention it anywhere.
It contains one side of it because the police deleted the rest of the evidence.
It contains one side of it because the police deleted the rest of the evidence.
No, the dashcam footage has been released since 2015. The article doesn't go over the incident/killing at all. Anyway, could you stop the constant dumb rating and leaving negative messages on my profile? That doesn't really help your case. You deny being biased, but you start some sort of personal attack against the person accusing you.

But i didnt make a big deal out of it because why whine about ratings on the internet? I posted this article to inform about police officers being caught destroying evidence and obstruction to protect a police officer who has shot an black teen. You can google more info of the shooting but i can do the research for you if you really want. I wasnt expecting people to try so hard to try defend cops that are already caught in corruption and a murder cover-up. [editline]28th June 2017[/editline]
He left me a PM saying "Fuck you and the police mr. bootlicker ;)" so it's no surprise he's biased.
Completely inrelevent to the thread. Keep your character assassination in my PMs instead of derailing a legitimate thread. I have no problem with the police. I was actually studying criminal justice and was hoping to become a police officer myself back in high school. Life and college changed my career path. As stated MANY times before, i dont have a problem with the vast majority of police officers. I just have no tolerance for police officers that abuse their power. I also have no tolerance with people outside the US invading my thread to shitpost, derail and do their best to defend criminal police officers just because.

But that doesn't matter. Ratings aren't important. That's not why I made that post. But then you went onto my profile and left an insensitive message. I can't stand that cowardly behaviour, so I told you. Now you know. "I wasnt expecting people to try so hard to try defend cops that are already caught in corruption and a murder cover-up." You always make these posts instead of actually coming with arguments :
Yeah you could see some of them in this thread still defending the cop

How can anybody defend this cop?
Sending personal messages to those you don't agree with is absolutely disgusting. Now that this is over and done with, can we get on with the actual topic?

You ignored it and made a ruckus about me hurting your feelings outside this thread and made no contributation. I think its pretty disgusting how you can try to slide on the police side when they are literally already proven to be guilty(not covicted yet). Then complain about how you dont know anything about the incident. If you dont know anything why the fuck are you even arguing then? I didnt think that light banter was going to traumatize you so much. You didnt even responded to any of my arguments. Cops are out to protect cops and the interests who own them, all others are expendable in pursuit of these goals. Forget this at your peril.

I blatantly said the officers aren't innocent. What are you trying to prove by coming up with a completely irrelevant wall of text? Don't worry, you didn't hurt my feelings. I'm just telling you off because if you're going to be posting one-sided articles and personally harassing anyone that doesn't agree, you probably shouldn't be posting in the first place. And once again you go for this hilarious non-argument:
I think its pretty disgusting how you can try to slide on the police side when they are literally already proven to be guilty(not covicted yet). He was clearly walking away. Van Dyke shot him, causing him to spin, then shot him 15 more times when he was on the ground. There's is no other side to this. This is murder. Read the rest of the incident. They had requested tazer backup, Van Dyke wasn't the first one on scene and had only been out of his car for 6 seconds before firing, and the rest of the cops didn't think lethal force was necessary.

Seems more like he's just walking perpendicular. Nonetheless, I said the officers weren't innocent.
Corruption runs rampant in the US local law enforcement system. Many urban police departments, especially those in less economically advantaged districts, are a breeding ground for this kind of shit. They resort to increasingly violent and hostile means of policing, and place the protection of their "brothers in blue" above all else, even (especially) the welfare of the very people they are supposed to be protecting. As a Ferguson resident whose concerns of corrupt law enforcement practices and racially-targeted policing were fully vindicated by the US Department of Justice's investigation into the widespread abuses of power and breaches of legal conduct among Saint Louis police officers, I find it extremely frustrating that so many people rush out of the woodwork to argue that this kind of shit is a non-issue. To argue that it's defensible, even, is disgusting. More specifically to this particular case: it was very clearly an unlawful shooting and a wrongful death. Even if you agree that this fact is debatable, however, what isn't is that the police engaged in a conspiracy to bury evidence and twist the truth. That is completely unacceptable. They place the welfare and freedom of their own people above the people victimized by them. That cannot be allowed to happen. Police must be accountable for their actions.
The problem isn't that a majority of cops are bad (because they're not), but more like the system protects the few bad ones actually doing corrupt shit like this.
I wouldn't exactly call it walking away. Seems more like he's just walking perpendicular. Nonetheless, I said the officers weren't innocent.
Thats some next level contrarianism.
Thats some next level contrarianism.
How so? The angle of the dashcam makes it a bit hard to see, but he's definitely not walking away in a straight line from the officer.
