Athens man arrested second time in three months for family violence involving pork chop

In the initial incident on Feb. 20, Terry Bernard Ball Jr., 29, was eating a pork chop at his mother’s Simmons Street home when he became angry at his mother because she hadn’t gotten cigarettes for him, the 60-year-old woman told police. After throwing the pork chop at his mother, Ball reportedly pushed and head-butted her, according to police.

Ball violated his bond by going to his mother’s house Wednesday. According to police, Ball’s mother called 911 at 2:53 a.m. to report Ball was trying to fight everyone in the home. When police arrived and tried to talk with Ball, his replies did not make much sense, but he did indicate that “they ate his pork chop and now he has to eat noodles,” according to the police report.

Ball was arrested and charged with violating a family violence order, police said.[/QUOTE]
