Arby’s owner Roark Capital Group said on Tuesday it would buy Buffalo Wild Wings Inc (BWLD.O) for $2.4 billion, adding to its growing portfolio of U.S. restaurants after a bruising proxy fight over the direction of the chicken wing chain. Roark, which also owns bakery chain Cinnabon, said in a statement it would pay $157 per share for Buffalo Wild Wings, a premium of 7 percent over the stock’s Monday close. The chain will become a unit of Arby’s but will continue to operate as an independent brand. Its shares (BWLD.O) rose 6.3 percent to $155.55 in midday trading on Tuesday. The deal marks the end of a turbulent year for the chicken wing restaurant, which saw it concede three board seats to well-known hedge fund and activist investor Marcato Capital Management. The defeat also prompted Chief Executive Sally Smith to announce her retirement after two decades in charge.
Reuters
thats a lot of chicken wings and terrible sandwiches
Good. Perhaps they'll fix their menu. Who the hell offers Nachoes, but with no beef and instead chicken and pulled pork?

Maybe now buffalo wild wings will have good mozzarella sticks again
god it's a conglomerate of some of the most mediocre tasting food on the planet will they now add lint with hot sauce on it to the menu with this acquisition?
I think both Arby's and BWW's have decent if not good food. :pudge: However it says they'll both still be separate entities which is nice. I don't really like menu blending.
buffalo wild wings would be a lot better if the restauraunt wasn't so fucking unbelievably goddamn loud all the time. its ridiculous. I know its been pointed out to them numerous times, too, but they give some bullshit about creating their brand experience or whatever which is a pity, because they have some pretty :ok: wing sauces
BWW is a dystopian sports bar, not a restaurant. You're doing it wrong if you go there at any other time than happy hour on 2-for-1 Wing Tuesdays.

Last few times I went to arby's, their "food" tasted like anything but. BWW was ok but I don't expect that to last long now.
I think there's maybe only 3 or 4 things I even like at BWW, and that's probably just because I lived with someone who adored their boneless wings for some reason. [sp]Okay the boneless wings are actually pretty good please don't touch that recipe.[/sp]
I like Arby's. never been to BWW because they seem really fucking overpriced and I can get actual buffalo style wings in my city anyway.

I went to Buffalo Wild Wings, once. I really enjoyed it, plus got a kick out of the whole variety thing they got going on. Most wing places usually only do different levels of spicy, or a really shit dry rub.
BWW is fine, and is the only actually decent sports bar in a 50 mile radius of here somehow. They have eSports every so often, which is cool. I'll die for Arby's fries though.
thats a lot of chicken wings and terrible sandwiches
Why does yall seem to think that this somehow implies the two companies are merging. Loads of fast food companies are owned by the same parent company (ex YUM)
Last few times I went to arby's, their "food" tasted like anything but.
