Set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the story focuses on Walter White, a high school chemistry teacher who is diagnosed with lung cancer. Living with a pregnant wife and a teenage son with cerebral palsy, he decides to "break bad" and turn to a life of crime by selling crystal methamphetamine with his former student Jesse Pinkman, in order to secure his family's financial future before he dies. After its five season run, the show has received critical acclaim for its writing and cinematography, and in my opinion it is one of the best drama series of the 2000s. The series is a spin-off of Breaking Bad. Set in 2002, it focuses on the life of small-time lawyer Saul Goodman six years before his appearance on Breaking Bad, though events during and after the original series will also be explored.
It's been a while since I watched Breaking Bad, so I feel it's a good time to give it a re-watch. Thank god for Netflix.
Can't wait for Better Call Saul.
Breaking Bad is my favorite drama/TV show. There were scenes where, after they'd end, I'd look down and notice my hands in knots, knuckles white. I got WAAAAAY too into the show. It sucked me in totally. :v:
I got into Breaking Bad late, but I've always been a huge fan of Bob Odenkirk, so let's fucking go.
The final episode of breaking bad is one of the best series-finals ive seen, so satisfying. I shed tears when i finished this show, and heard the end credits theme for the last time. Good show, goddamn
What are you guys hoping for the most from Better Call Saul? I really hope they expand even more on Saul's character, because he was really interesting throughout BB's timeline I'd love to know more about him. Also it'd be really neat if other characters from the main series were included, idk how but I can dream right?
it's already been confirmed that characters such as mike, walt, jesse, and badger will be on the show.
seeing more of mike would be swell
it's already been confirmed that characters such as mike, walt, jesse, and badger will be on the show.
Source? Last I read, Jesse and Walt weren't going to be on the show.
Source? Last I read, Jesse and Walt weren't going to be on the show.
They will appear eventually, but not this season.
it's already been confirmed that characters such as mike, walt, jesse, and badger will be on the show.
no gus? that's sad
no gus? that's sad
i'm sure they'll find a way to fit him in remember guys, the show is supposed to span from before and after breaking bad.
it's already been confirmed that characters such as mike, walt, jesse, and badger will be on the show.
One of the most underrated characters in the whole show
i'm sure they'll find a way to fit him in remember guys, the show is supposed to span from before and after breaking bad.
That's partly why I'm looking forward to this. It'll be interesting to hear about the aftermath of Breaking Bad.
One of the most underrated characters in the whole show
But that's not Skinny Pete.
*SPOILERS, DON'T READ THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T ALREADY FINISHED THE SHOW* I'm rewatching the show now and I just finished season 4 and I started seeing Jesse as a bit of a Christ figure. It occurred to me when [sp]he was talking with Gus in that little prayer room in the hospital. He was wearing a shirt with a cross on it, and I think he wears other ones at other points in the series.[/sp] [sp]He's also got a few of what you could call apostles, he's friends with all the deadbeats and prostitutes and provides a home for them (despite it being full of drugs and shit). He has much stronger morals and conflicting ideologies with his superiors and he[/sp] [sp]spends a very long time as a slave, having sort of sacrificed himself, then he ultimately rises back up, reborn, more or less.[/sp] [sp] He also loves kids and gave a load of money to Andrea and Brock which was pretty selfless[/sp] I know the theory's kind of flawed but it just entered my mind last night
That's partly why I'm looking forward to this. It'll be interesting to hear about the aftermath of Breaking Bad.
I LOVE the idea of watching the aftermath of events I'd love to see the aftermath of many, many shows and movies, but never get the chance.
I LOVE the idea of watching the aftermath of events I'd love to see the aftermath of many, many shows and movies, but never get the chance.
I really hope we at least get an epilogue with whatever Jesse ends up doing
I really hope we at least get an epilogue with whatever Jesse ends up doing
Jesse had the worst shit imaginable happen to him like seriously watch this that's everything bad that's happened to him over the course of 1 year. That isn't even the start of it. He's a good dude who deals with really awful shit and awful people. he has to deal with 2 of his lovers dying in front of him, his parents disowning him, all of his money being made from killing people and selling meth to children, and just horrible shit if I was him, I'd kill myself. Dealing with that would be devastating.
I need to rewatch BB before BCS
I need to rewatch BB before BCS
I wish I could rewatch but that show nearly emotionally ruined me the first time around. BB is so good just, so intense and emotional holy fuck. I legit got a trash can with me when I watched the last few episodes because I thought I was going to throw up.
wow damn dude I've never had that happen to me
Well I already have anxiety so this show was terrible for me to watch :v: but I don't regret it.
Watched it 3 times, would watch it the 4th time. There isnt anything better than breaking bad. I like the part (season 5.2 or 6, so spoiler alert) [sp]walter vists schwartz family where badger and skinny peete fools them with laserpointers, so they think walter hired some killers. haha[/sp]
That moment when it hits you that there's a time jump from Granite State to Felina. That means that Jesse was [sp] a meth cook slave to the nazis for almost a year. [/sp] :c
[sp]Holy fuck, i thought it was like 3-4 months or so. How could walt survive an entire year without any medical help anyway?[/sp]
Man I still get goosebumps watching that scene in the second last episode when the theme music slowly kicks in. Probably my favourite scene in any show ever
[sp]Holy fuck, i thought it was like 3-4 months or so. How could walt survive an entire year without any medical help anyway?[/sp]
[sp]He was back in remission by that point, wasn't he?[/sp]
[sp]Holy fuck, i thought it was like 3-4 months or so.
