Doctor forcibly removed from overbooked United Airlines flight shown bloodied and confused
Getting on a flight can sometimes be awkward these days.
But once you have boarded you can usually breathe a sigh of relief knowing that you will soon be on your way.
However, one passenger on a flight from Chicago was not going anywhere - he was forced off the plane instead.
A video posted on social media shows the man being violently removed from a United airlines flight from Chicago to Louisville on Sunday evening.
It shows three men who appear to be flight security staff pulling the man by his arms out of his seat and dragging him down the aisle as other passengers watch in horror.
"The doctor needed to work at the hospital the next day, so he refused to volunteer," Mr Ansbach added.
"Ten minutes later, the doctor runs back into the plane with a bloody face, clings to a post in the back, chanting, "I need to go home."
honestly disgusting.
Really hope he wins a massive lawsuit.
Was about to post this. Jesus fucking christ that's awful. Knocking him out like that. :s:
Sue them. This sort of shit shouldn't stand.
Guys about to be fucking rich (a doc so richer I guess)
Why can't I ever get beat up by employees
United is the EA of airplane carriers.
They'll cut away everything most airlines have as standard and sell it back to you (Premium features are fucking DLC in disguise). Never going to fly their airline again if I can avoid it and I hope more people see this and boycott them.
On a side note, I've also discovered through this entire fiasco that the practice of overbooking is entirely legal.
Also, how the fuck is a computer going to decide at random who has de-plane? Surely not the first class or business passengers, because they subsidize the cost of the economy travellers? What about people with health issues or children? They essentially chose this guy at random and expected him to comply, despite buying a seat, because fuck you, that's why.

just to say most doctors dont make more than a living with medicine unless they have like a secondary qualification and 8-10 years of experience, to say nothing of being good at their jobs.
Why, my starting salary was barely 600 bucks, until my probationer's period ended and I was applicable for benefits and overtime pay.
Absolute scum

I think we might not be getting the full story, the way he runs back into the plane somehow seems weird, idk.

Thats shitty. I'd imagine wages for doctors would be a little less there, but that's incredibly low.
I was mostly joking, but I've gotten to know quite a few doctors through my mothers social events (hospital nurse for 25 yrs, 10 at her current surgery center), and well, they're certainly not struggling by any stretch of the word, to put it lightly, so that's where that came from.. :v

That kind of excessive physical force with a story corroborated by the passengers recording from multiple angles is story enough - United done fucked up, because you let folks on the aircraft with a designated seat on the aircraft. He didn't sneak in, he had a right to be there. They forcefully removed him from the aircraft after failing to comply, knocking him out in the process and injuring him.
Someone at the gate immediately realized that they had gone too far and with the sheer number of cameras and witnesses recording the situation, the PR shitstorm that was about to hit them and cut this guy loose.

They overbooked and offered money and a hotel to anyone who volunteered to give up their seat so some crew could make a flight they were due to be on.
What is this thing with airlines acting like they can just do whatever? There's a constant flow of stories of dictator flight attendants being pieces of shit.

Doctors in India, in particular, are typically paid peanuts unfortunately. Here's a great post about it as well.
Accorded much respect, like teachers, just not paid as much.
Saw this on Reddit, thread got removed on r/videos because it broke rule 4 about police brutality???

Yeah, so basically it was some single security guy who used excessive force. Then he ran back traumatized and stunned, and they did the right thing and treated him instead of beating him more.
I still don't get how he ran back, did they like dump him at a seat at the gate and walk away?

That wasn't some rent-a-cop, that was an Air Marshall, apparently - Federal LEO.

Very shameful, indeed - It's funny you should mention training, though...
Isn't this the same airline that denied two girls entry to their flight purely because of their attire?
Well the way he acted I would of thought so, didn't act much like a trained professional
Even though this case was ultimately unjustified it wasn't really the flight marshals fault. When detaining and moving an 80-90 kg man spazzing out from the shock of humiliation and breach of personal space (and the struggling and pain that follows) it isn't usually very graceful. The one in the wrong was whoever ordered him to be removed in the first place.

'We apologize for the overbook situation.'
I'd call the patient and let them know that they can't be treated because United Airlines forced me off a flight because they fucked up

Believe it or not, its not up to the guy who runs the twitter account to make PR statements.
