For some reason alot of these keep turning up to be fake or made up. I have posted or seen atleast 4 or 5 cases with something specifically dealing with hijabs being ripped/messed with already. Just sad people are taking advantage of others sympathies for attention or other grossly misguided reasons.

My suspicion is that she took it off, something happened to it somehow, and she likely made up the story so as not to get in trouble with her parents, then did the predictable kid thing and ran with it for way too long.

I don't expect her to have understood the political implications of this, but I do expect her to have known better than to lie to the police about what happened.

Now if it is all because of what the girl said for whatever reason she lied; Her punishment should just be harsh parenting and being retold the consequences of lying like that. It isn't like I am saying throw these people in jail. At worst a fine for the wasted resources would be what I imagined.
