Canadian police search for man who cut 11-year-old girl's hijab
The hijab is a head covering worn by some Muslim women and girls. It covers the hair but not the face.
“I felt confused, scared, terrified,” Khawlah Noman, who is in Grade 6, told reporters at her school on Friday.
“I screamed. The man just ran away. We followed this crowd of people to be safe. He came again. He continued cutting my hijab again.”
Must take a real special kind of person to bully a young girl as a grown man.
No picture of it? I feel like her holding up the cut cloth would be the headline picture. But I guess you can assume there was witnesses

I s'pose if more information comes forth we'll see it. Reuters has a pretty decent track record and it's corroborated by Toronto police.
Police describe the attacker as Asian, 20-30 years old, between 5ft 7in and 5ft 8in, with a thin build.
The siblings said he had black hair with straight bangs to the eyebrows, a thin moustache and black prescription glasses.
He was described as wearing a black hooded sweater with the hood up, black pants and brown gloves.
I hope they find the guy and figure out why he would do such a thing.
When I heard about this, I had to ask myself what kind of racist shitbag goes after a fucking child?

Likely the same kind of mentality that allows the throwing of acid on a childs face for not conforming to a religion.
In fact, this kind of incident likely preludes something more extreme happening in the future.
According to the police, this event did not happen as reported and the investigation is now concluded.

Did she come up with that herself or did her parents set up this stunt? Such an asinine thing to do.
For some reason alot of these keep turning up to be fake or made up. I have posted or seen atleast 4 or 5 cases with something specifically dealing with hijabs being ripped/messed with already.
Just sad people are taking advantage of others sympathies for attention or other grossly misguided reasons.
My suspicion is that she took it off, something happened to it somehow, and she likely made up the story so as not to get in trouble with her parents, then did the predictable kid thing and ran with it for way too long.

Huh, well that's something. People really shouldn't lie about things like this... Though by the same token, I'm glad that nothing actually happened.
The little girl should have known this shit is politicized out the ass and it's probably the last thing she wants to lie about if she wants to get away with whatever should intended to.
Harsh lesson, but the news will eat this shit up and blow it way out of proportion.

Yeah I hate it when people just make stuff up to take advantage of others or for the attention.

She's in grade 6

Luckily it seems these people get caught when they actually do something malicious and rule breaking.
So hopefully this girl and her family don’t just get away with no punishment. Or if it is just a really young girl telling wildly accusative stories herself that she is parented correctly.

Not at all saying she did lie, but don't underestimate kids man, theyre some sneaky fuckers from my experience

What could they even be punished with? I can't see anything more than wasting police resources. And the article already has confirmed the police aren't going to do anything.
adding that the girl who reported the incident will not face any legal consequences.
She's just a kid and I doubt she expected to end up in the national news.

thats not regarding whether she lied or not
thats regarding how she should have "known this shit is politicized out the ass"

I was referring to the "she should know it's politicized" lol

Didn't know Whickedplayer's giving lessons in opinion building.

Look, no 11 year old can be expected to know about politics, but when I was 11 I sure as shit knew not to lie to the police. I don't expect her to have understood the political implications of this, but I do expect her to have known better than to lie to the police about what happened.

Well it depends if her parents knew and were instigating it, but I think some places should and would punish on false reports and wasting police resources.
Now if it is all because of what the girl said for whatever reason she lied; Her punishment should just be harsh parenting and being retold the consequences of lying like that.
It isn't like I am saying throw these people in jail. At worst a fine for the wasted resources would be what I imagined.
Is canadian asian the same as european asian?
That depends, do you see Canadian as a nationality and European as an ethnic origin just like Asian? In that case no they are not the same, and a European Asian would be a Eurasian.
