In a world dominated by adaptations and family-friendly IPs, the growing world of John Wick’s bloody good fun is a welcome addition to any cinema. With the hitman turned heroic figure returning to the screen, there’s clearly work to be done. The Continental will be the subject of a new TV series from Starz and even feature the return of Ian McShane’s mysterious character with his ties to the assassin-filled underworld. The series is perfect for a spinoff exploring a world of high-class assassins and in an era of film where shared universes are gold, it’s ideal for building a shared universe onscreen, all the more reason any sign of John Wick 3 moving forward is an excellent piece of news. According to That Hashtag Show the film is moving forward with a director, start date, and returning cast members. Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the first film before tackling John Wick 2 on his own, will be staying the course and guiding John Wick 3. That Hashtag Show also reported principle photography is beginning March 1st in New York City, with additional filming locations possibly in Spain and Russia. Given how the last film ended with [sp]Wick declaring the assassin underworld should come for him as he walked off into New York City[/sp], it looks like John Wick 3 might pick up right where the previous installment left off. That’s further confirmed with the news Laurence Fishburne will be returning as the Bowery King and joined by Common’s Cassian and Ruby Rose’s Ares from the previous films. There will also be multiple new faces with the film’s antagonist being played by Hiroyuki Sanada (The Wolverine, Avengers 4). Sanada will be playing the head of a Japanese crime syndicate, presumably with a score to settle against Reeves’s Wick. This will be a reunion for the two actors who starred together in 2013’s 47 Samurai.
https://screenrant.com/john-wick-3-director-filming-start-returning-cast/
Why do they keep bringing wick back. I get it, the world building is neat but wicks story was done after the first movie.
"Chad Stahelski, who co-directed the first film before tackling John Wick 2 on his own, will be staying the course and guiding John Wick 3. " GOOD. all i was waiting to hear really [editline]18th January 2018[/editline]
Why do they keep bringing wick back.
Why do they keep bringing wick back. I get it, the world building is neat but wicks story was done after the first movie.
It makes for a good viewing, at least. 2 kinda ended with a cliffhanger so there's at least something to go off.
Wick 2 kinda felt forced for me :< the first was fuckin fantastic, I just feel they should have focused on a different main character because the motivation behind wick in the first couldn't really be hit again for reeves character. Am still gonna watch wick 3 when it's released though.
What if Reeves didn't return to play Wick though
It'll be just like Robocop 3, and by that I mean it will probably suck
Why do they keep bringing wick back. I get it, the world building is neat but wicks story was done after the first movie.
are you crazy
I love the franchise, looking forward to it
I'm particularly excited to see we're getting a Japanese villain
Why do they keep bringing wick back. I get it, the world building is neat but wicks story was done after the first movie.
if john wick 2 was a mediocre movie i would agree with you, but it was just as good as the first movie. whats the problem then?

[sp]Chad[/sp]
I like that in three films we get all 3 movie mob stereotypes, Russian, Italian and Japanese
I like that in three films we get all 3 movie mob stereotypes, Russian, Italian and Japanese
And Payday 2's got you covered if you wanna see vs Bikers
I'm still hoping that it will involve Carrie Anne Moss somehow
Hol' Up, didn't [sp]Ares fucking die[/sp] near the end of two? How is she back for 3?
These movies are instant classics, I'm so glad they exist.
Hol' Up, didn't [sp]Ares fucking die[/sp] near the end of two? How is she back for 3?
I rewatched the scene and I think it's not unreasonable to say she could still be alive. the last line given by her is "Be seeing you" as well [editline]18th January 2018[/editline]
if john wick 2 was a mediocre movie i would agree with you, but it was just as good as the first movie. whats the problem then?
Plus the article even mentions that if you're wanting more Continental stuff without him you're already getting The Continental on Starz.

Same with Fishburne.
Inb4 John Wick dies at the start of the movie, leaving everybody flabbergasted for the remaining duration. 10/10
isn't keanu's hair long right now? i hope he keeps it like that for the movie
Aww fuck yes! I loved John Wick 1 and 2, I'm absolutely hyped for the 3rd movie. Also find the idea of a TV series to be interesting. I feel like they've done a good job building this world of assassins and it would be nice to have a more in depth look at it.
isn't keanu's hair long right now? i hope he keeps it like that for the movie
he's a lumberjack in the national park hiding from the continental
Why do they keep bringing wick back. I get it, the world building is neat but wicks story was done after the first movie.
It was done, but [sp]they talked about in the first movie him pulling a lot of strings to get out of the game, nothing specific but it was still mentioned[/sp]. That was enough to build on for the second movie. Plus the second movie was as good, if not better, than the first. I'm all for another movie especially after the second one's cliff hanger.
And Payday 2's got you covered if you wanna see vs Bikers
one
John Fucking Wick 3! I'm hyped as fuck now! The second one's fight scenes were phenomenal and the energy was soaring! If anyone else did these movies it would not be as good as the films are now. I look foward to the Sanada perhaps playing the villain. He was a good actor next to Hugh Jackman in The Wolverine, and that film was mediocre. Also, [sp]Ares is coming back? Maybe in a flashback but more scenes with her is good enough.[/sp]
I love the franchise, looking forward to it
"Franchise." That's a word I didn't think would be associated with the John Wick films. They felt like high quality Indie film pet-projects. Then again how both films turned out it was going to be a franchise one way or another with the [sp]world of the Continental assassins.[/sp]
The currency thing was so weird in the universe they made. Like it could buy you a whole arsenal of weapons or like a Snickers idk
The currency thing was so weird in the universe they made. Like it could buy you a whole arsenal of weapons or like a Snickers idk
I mean they obviously have a large supply of guns and you don't know if there was a snickers shortage or something in universe.
