https://www.engadget.com/2017/06/22/valve-knuckles-vr-individual-finger-tracking/
To use Knuckles, users insert their hand between the main part of the controller and a soft strap that helps hold it in place. You can tighten or loosen the fit with an attached cord. This means that you can grab and interact with objects as you normally would without worrying about dropping the controller. Multiple capacitive sensors throughout the device also can help track your hand motions and whether your fingers are pointed straight, tightly curled or somewhere in between. It's important to note that Knuckles contains individual tracking for each separate finger, a feature VR users have been asking for.
[T]https://o.aolcdn.com/images/dims?quality=100&image_uri=http%3A%2F%2Fo.aolcdn.com%2Fdims-shared%2Fdims3%2FGLOB%2Fcrop%2F1000x654%2B0%2B0%2Fresize%2F1600x1046%21%2Fformat%2Fjpg%2Fquality%2F85%2Fhttp%3A%2F%2Fo.aolcdn.com%2Fhss%2Fstorage%2Fmidas%2F1d5635c00bd35e67dea9146b68639059%2F205403955%2Fknuckles.png&client=cbc79c14efcebee57402&signature=a34436c7c8463e2f78a242d444ef8d7b79003b8d[/T] [T]http://i2.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/facebook/000/887/216/d02.png[/T]
Fucking incredible.
finally I can finger bang people in VR [editline]22nd June 2017[/editline] without using the LEAP ASS
ill admit that im very curious for this. I just hope it will be comfortable since it looks so odd
One step closer to VR bodysuits for complete control.
That's actually very interesting, I would love to try these out. If it means accurate hand tracking without the need of holding the controller I'm very interested
that infographic makes it look like bop-it: gamecube edition also still no thumbstick option, I can already hear people grinding their pitchforks
There are a lot of string in hlvr referring to "Grabbity Gloves". Kinda interesting that a VR controlling that's taking in "grabbing" input now exists.
One step closer to VR bodysuits for complete control.
sweat simulator [editline]22nd June 2017[/editline] here i come

I'm not gonna lie, when I saw that thread title I actually thought they were making a Knuckles VR game.
I'm not gonna lie, when I saw that thread title I actually thought they were making a Knuckles VR game.
I myself am slightly upset that they are not.
if you tweet at the sonic twitter there is a 50% chance sega will start working on a knuckles vr game
if you tweet at the sonic twitter there is a 50% chance sega will start working on a knuckles vr game
Knuckles compatible Sonic & Knuckles VR game featuring Knuckles.
Now we're gonna get more things like this and I'm fine with that I hope Valve copyrights a mascot for swinging knucklesticks
Legit I do wonder what the cost would be I also wonder if I could have the original + new controllers at the same time My biggest dream in VR is to hook two controllers together with the triggers connected, and then basically have two guns in one hand, and then have another in my other, giving me 4 guns

Knuckle controllers for all games, with an additional 3d printed rifle with two normal Vive controllers for shooters. Shame nobody is going to spend the time implementing that as a feature since so few people are going to have both.

My highest guess is 200 [editline]23rd June 2017[/editline] although a steam controller is only 60 bucks - maybe they'll be cheaper. we can only hope because these are a definite improvement over what we have now
This just reminds me of a fear that I have: That developers might make too many VR peripherals and games will require specific ones, and the cash will burn a hole in two pairs of pockets.

You'd think HTC would be cheaper, but you never know.

If the 3 games they're working on are supposedly reliant on these controllers, I doubt they'd price it too far out of reach
that infographic makes it look like bop-it: gamecube edition also still no thumbstick option, I can already hear people grinding their pitchforks
I really dislike the touchpads because they're actually rather flimsy and seem to malfunction easily. Since it's VR you're bound to bump the controllers into a few walls (if only against one another) and the touchpad seems to be the first thing that suffers from it.
One step closer to VR bodysuits for complete control.
one step closer to embracing my virtual waifu

They're just not as rugged and comfortable in VR.
Meh, only supports 5 fingers. Ill pass
Meh, only supports 5 fingers. Ill pass
Yakuza Simulator. The more you progress in the game the less finger buttons work.
Meh, only supports 5 fingers. Ill pass
I can't tell if this is a joke I don't get or if you suggesting different models for people who have fewer fingers.
Nintendo is developing Arms. Valve is developing Kunckles. I can't wait to see other devs make games like "Knees" or "Toes"

HTC on the other hand is getting pretty big, I also think they intentionally overprice the VR peripherals so they can pump money into their VR funding, that's just a hunch though.
There are a lot of string in hlvr referring to "Grabbity Gloves".
