(Youtube)
Hundreds who came to watch an Easter passion play in Mexico were horrified as a young man portraying Judas Iscariot hanged himself in an onstage accident. Jose Ignacio was killed after a rope tied around his neck slipped during the scene, cutting off his airway, according to El Universal. Witnesses to the tragedy in Michoacán realized the scene had gone awry when the man stopped moving or breathing.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/world/man-accidentally-hangs-portraying-judas-easter-play-article-1.3069347 RIP Judas, the shitposting finally caught up to 'em.
why would there ever be the possibility of the rope being able to actually choke someone, and why would you not have people on the side as emergency in case anything happens? that's a horrible accident that never should've happened with the right safety precautions. sucks for the dude but the people who planned this event should've really looked into this. his death is on their hands.

So do we permaban Judas for the reaaon of "Dead"? That's what Facepunch does when Facepunch members die, right? (User was banned for this post ("This really doesn't have much to do with the topic" - Craptasket))
Tragic, not the first story I've heard with someone doing this by accident either. There was some other guy I read about years back that accidentally did it during a Halloween display or something.

Back in highschool when i did a lot of theater stuff, I remember doing a workshop where they talked about everything that has to go into faking a hanging like this, its pretty dangerous if you don't plan and practice it right.

We did it with a bunch of clever ropework, basically tied the guy in a mountaineering harness and had the rope hang loosely around his neck. Also planned ahead, in that if the harness failed then the rope itself wasnt actually *tied*, it would slip right off as soon as any significant pressure was applied. Meanwhile these guys went "lol lets just hang him fo realzies"
this is horrifying because it's an accident that could've been so so so easily prevented with proper care and planning
Didn't the same thing nearly happened to Marty Mcfly's actor during BTTF3?
RIP to the guy, hope his family are ok holy shit this is like an awful omen wtf
This kind of shit always scares me. A scenario where you're in danger and need help and people are watching you but they don't help because they think its meant to happen.
Method actors always take things too far.
Wasn't there news where people thought shit like this was part of the act Or magic tricks

Nightmare content personally.
