- There are no rules or requirements for the content of the images you post, other than that [u]you made them[/u]. Moving images should go [url=http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1096365]here[/url].
- Nudity is allowed, but use some discretion with anything more than that. Use [url] tags instead and leave a small warning.
- It helps if you can explain a bit about your work, but it is not required.
- Remember to give helpful criticism, you should include ways for the other person to improve their images.
- Challenging opinions are welcome, but this thread is intensely personal and subjective - use some [url=http://www.thefreedictionary.com/tact]tact[/url].
- Host images to imgur or flickr to increase permanence, and not use up smaller sites' bandwidth.
- Generally try to keep images from exceeding 1024px wide, 800px preferred. [img] and [media] are full sized, while [t] tags will thumbnail your image to stop the page from stretching!

send me any changes and I'll edit up. Also on the topic you ended on, quantity over quality is a fine line to walk. It's great to practice constantly and keep working on your eye, but people often fall into the spray-and-pray "one of these will look good eventually" side of things. Always shoot to kill

I use a 50 1.8D (requires screw focus motor or manual focusing), an old 'pancake' style manual 50 1.8, and have a 35 1.8G (no manual aperture but works with lower consumer grade digital nikon SLRs) which is very similar in cost for what you get out of it. If you're shooting a crop-frame digital camera, 35 might be a more acceptable substitute, as it grants roughly the same overall view as a 50 on a full frame film camera.

Its a great lens for many situations. Street, portraits, landscapes can all be done.

Vibration reduction isn't really necessary for the lens because of the wide open aperture, you're often using super fast shutterspeeds and can still perform decent in lower light.
