Skyrim Creation Club's all-new Survival Mode is now available on Steam for beta testing. You can be one of the first to check it out by simply opting-into the Steam beta. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will get to experience Survival Mode and other Creations early next month. Both PC and console players will get Survival Mode free for one week once it launches on their preferred platform. Survival Mode adds new gameplay features and challenges to transform Skyrim into a land of unrelenting cold and harsh wilderness. You can check out the map below to see all the treacherous climate zones, plus helpful landmarks that could ensure you survive your journey.
via Bethesda's blog
This is already several different free mods that are likely 20 times better then whatever garbage this will be
Vampires & Werewolves Both vampires and werewolves can restore their hunger by feeding on their victims. While transformed into a Werewolf or Vampire Lord, you will become colder much slower than normal.
Fucking what.
This essentially checks when you are in the cold and makes game-play so much more realistic by slowing your movement speed when it gets colder. I can't possibly see myself recommending anyone to buy a couple of status effects and events that change the aforementioned effects. All I see from this is a guy crippling the main game to make things more "fun" but that's as fun as adding more health to a boss to make it more "difficult". I don't think these game-play elements are going to make a player feel like they are surviving as much as just scurrying to the menu's to make sure they aren't starving from not using a food item 5 minutes prior. This dead horse has to stop getting beat.
Uhhh, isn't there like 1 mod to do this called Frostfall or something like that? I dunno I haven't played in ages but this already exists with camping and shit so wtf

Survival mode used to be a patch in Fallout 4. Now it's a paid mod. woo.
Like, we already have an extremely indepth and extremely popular free mod that does much the very same thing, but better in Frostfall, what's even the point of this. [editline]edit[/editline] And if it's for console users, XBOX users can use Frostfall, it's only PS4 users that are utterly fucked in that regard.
Did they ever fix the whole, filling up users hard drives with mods they don't technically own or want?
The existing free mods already do this better with the ability to make camps, campfires and and set up base basically anywhere in the world and its saved as well. This looks like the lite version of those mods with the difference being that you gotta pay probably 5 dollars for it.
Did they ever fix the whole, filling up users hard drives with mods they don't technically own or want?
with the CC of FO4 they did. However, you still have to download the first set of CC mods' content if you deleted them and tried verifying files. I think skyrim won't have that problem, but CC is trash garbage anyway.
"Both PC and console players will get Survival Mode free for one week once it launches on their preferred platform." free to use for one week, or free to grab for one week?
Didn't the developers of Metro: Last Light get shit when they released "Ranger Mode" as paid DLC? Why did Bethesda think this was a good idea? Especially since there's already free mods that do this exact thing only better. The Creation Club is just a dumpster fire of a disaster and they should try and stop pushing it as hard as they are. They already fucked it up about as hard as they could've right out of the gate, and now they do this.
Hopefully this will cause a shitstorm again and the idea will be scrapped again HOPEFULLY
Hopefully this will cause a shitstorm again and the idea will be scrapped again HOPEFULLY
It has caused people rating wrong game negative, amazing. http://store.steampowered.com/app/72850/The_Elder_Scrolls_V_Skyrim/
Fucking what.
I get vampires but shouldn't werewolves be warmer than normal? They're not icy half-demons like Skyrim's vampires and they're covered in fur.
"Both PC and console players will get Survival Mode free for one week once it launches on their preferred platform." free to use for one week, or free to grab for one week?
Judging by how plugin files work you could just back up the file eitherway and restore it if they have it deleted after a while.
yeah but I gotta know just how scummy they're b eing
I get vampires but shouldn't werewolves be warmer than normal? They're not icy half-demons like Skyrim's vampires and they're covered in fur.
Yes the point is that both of them ignore the cold and can survive for longer before reaching hypothermia.
I get vampires but shouldn't werewolves be warmer than normal? They're not icy half-demons like Skyrim's vampires and they're covered in fur.
Bad reading? Werewolf and vampire take more time to get cold. It's pretty straight forward [editline]hello[/editline] Ninja'd
I don't even understand the point the first post was making Both things make sense, hunger from feeding, resist cold
It has caused people rating wrong game negative, amazing. http://store.steampowered.com/app/72850/The_Elder_Scrolls_V_Skyrim/
They are targeting Both Versions.
They are targeting Both Versions.
Skyrim without Creation Club and Steam Workshop: [t]https://i.imgur.com/cuMK1nO.png[/t] Skyrim Special Edition without Steam Workshop and with Creation Club: [t]https://i.imgur.com/IP2kCuD.png[/t] If anything at this rate non Creation Club skyrim will probably become more negativelly rated compared to special edition.
I hope certain diseases are restricted to specific sources (one disease from one or a set of animals, another few to a different set).
I hope certain diseases are restricted to specific sources (one disease from one or a set of animals, another few to a different set).
I hope the disease that is the creation club gets restricted to the depths of hell
"Both PC and console players will get Survival Mode free for one week once it launches on their preferred platform." free to use for one week, or free to grab for one week?
Free to save the .esl to your Dropbox. It doesn't matter unless you're on console.

This looks like the lite version of those mods with the difference being that you gotta pay probably 5 dollars for it.
I'd totally pay 5 dollars - or even more - for a completely modded and stable installation of Skyrim. It takes a lot of time&energy to really set up a modded installation exactly to one's liking, ready for uninterrupted play. And I'm 100% certain that the Creation Club can never even dream to offer that.
This is already several different free mods that are likely 20 times better then whatever garbage this will be
Most of those mods are script raping chugfests of incredibly bad coding, since they haven't stated the person who made this, this one might be different, and none of that changes the fact they're basically redoing things already done better, again.
Honestly I'd be 110% behind this 'creation club' if its roll-out mods were impressive. You dont have to go on size-par with anything like Far Harbour or Nuka World, but I was at least expectin something comparable in size with some of the smaller F3 DLCs (Mothership Xeta or The Pitt comes to mind) Instead you get... cheap garbage that I woulden't install on my game if it was free or crossovers that make zero sense. "Mini-DLCs"? These arn't mini-dlcs, these are micro DLCs. The kind of stuff you normally see for 99c on most games. Come on, Bethesda!

I don't think CC has even tried to prove that yet.
