That's like something out of a horror movie. Good god.
That's like something out of a horror movie. Good god.
I'm uncomfortable with the fact that life can turn into a Cronenberg movie at any moment.
i didnt even know this thing was infectious holy shit
It's infectious in a sense that it's caused by a form of HPV, one that most people already have as asymptomatic. You would still need to be genetically disposed to get this kind of thing.
I remember seeing a video about this condition years back. It still really freaks me out and I hate looking at it. I feel really bad for anyone affected by it, shit must feel horrible.
Looks like somebody dipped their hand in unfinished dough.
Did the operation involve a belt sander?
Did the operation involve a belt sander?
Have you seen that GoT episode where Sam heals Jorah from that stone man desease thing? Something like that. Only with some skin grafts afterwards. (User was banned for this post ("Untagged Spoilers" - Kiwi))
What is this thing even composed of? Skin?
I just hope it isn't bone or from nails imagine how fucked that would feel
So I guess Game of Thrones's greyscale is based on this?
So I guess Game of Thrones's greyscale is based on this?
Grayscale is based on a lot of diseases, but this is one of them. I don't think we need to talk about fictional diseases in this thread, though, when real ones are just as fucked
Looks like somebody dipped their hand in unfinished dough.
Or like he's gradually turning into a rock-man. In a rather horrifying fashion.
That's like something out of a horror movie. Good god.
There's a few people who have it all over their body

Yeah, I googled it beforehand and oh man, kind of wish I hadn't. Looks fucking awful.
I remember the original Tree Man being treated for this. Turns out it was basically warts, but his immune system was so weak it spread over his entire body with horrifying effect. Cutting them off did no good, because the virus still remained, so they'd just come back. His treatment eventually relied heavily on treatments to attack the virus and boost his immune system. Absolutely bizarre stuff.
So I guess Game of Thrones's greyscale is based on this?
I just wish I could go into any thread and not hearing anything related to this fucking series.
I just hope it isn't bone or from nails imagine how fucked that would feel
Don't look up fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva.
I don't exactly regret expanding that thumbnail because I now know what this condition looks like, but I think I can happily go through life not looking at another photo of it again. Jesus fucking Christ :disgust: I'm glad that guy got treatment, though. Christ, talk about body horror. In my rarest nightmares I dream that I can just rip my lower jaw off with a bit of accidental pressure in the right place, or that my teeth fall out because they're filled with sand instead of connective tissues, but this is probably going to replace all of those now. Never mind overt gore, your hand starting to 3D print itself according to a madness template is horrific.
I just wish I could go into any thread and not hearing anything related to this fucking series.
No need to hate the show just because the fans can be annoying. But this definitely is the worst thread to discuss it
Don't look up fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva.
Nah, teratomas are way more frightening. Imagine being pregnant with a baby that has completely fucked DNA and is basically just a jumbled mass of tissues including fully formed organs, eyes, and fingers.
Don't look up fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva.
That's Stone Man Syndrome right? I did a report on that in college. The skeletons of the victims are fucking weird because they just look like suits of armor made from human bone Stone Man Syndrome is scary because it's a terminal illness that we know very little about. For those who are scared to look it up, it's a condition in where your skin and other connective tissues systematically convert themselves to bone tissue. Your body actually turns to stone. Teratomas are a whole different thing. Fuck, they're so gross. The ones that form eyes and teeth really make me want to puke [editline]30th August 2017[/editline]
I just wish I could go into any thread and not hearing anything related to this fucking series.
:v: ? I haven't really heard anyone talking about it outside the thread and I frequent a pretty decent portion of the forums. I don't know why he was rated dumb other than the fact that people love to harp on GoT, I was reminded of greyscale too

So I guess this would only happen to someone with a really bad immune system and the genetic conditions to allow it, right?
