The USS Michael Monsoor (DDG-1001) is the second ship of the Zumwalt class of guided missile destroyers. Michael Monsoor is a multi-mission surface combatant tailored for advanced land attack and littoral dominance. The USS Michael Monsoor (DDG 1001) is the largest and most technologically advanced surface combatant in the world. Monsoor is the lead ship of a class of next-generation multi-mission destroyers designed to strengthen naval power from the sea. These ships will feature a state-of-the-art electric propulsion system, wave-piercing tumblehome hull, stealth design with the latest war fighting technology and weaponry available.
The Zumwalt-class destroyer will be capable of performing a range of deterrence, power projection, sea control, and command and control missions while allowing the Navy to evolve with new systems and missions. It does all of this while maintaining its stealth - making this visually imposing ship difficult to find whether close to the shore or far out to sea. These warships possess stealth, size, power, survivability systems, and computing capacity that provide the Navy with the ability to meet maritime missions at sea now, as well as incorporate new technologies to meet emerging security environments.
Who is Michael Monsoor?

Michael Anthony Monsoor (April 5, 1981 – September 29, 2006) was a United States Navy SEAL who was killed during the Operation Iraqi Freedom and posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor. Monsoor enlisted in the United States Navy in 2001 and graduated from Basic Underwater Demolition/SEAL training BUD/S class 250 in 2004. After further training he was assigned to Delta Platoon, SEAL Team 3.
Delta Platoon was sent to Iraq in April 2006 and assigned to train Iraqi Army soldiers in Ramadi. Over the next five months, Monsoor and his platoon frequently engaged in combat with insurgent forces. On September 29, 2006, an insurgent threw a grenade onto a rooftop where Monsoor and several other SEALs and Iraqi soldiers were positioned. Monsoor quickly smothered the grenade with his body, absorbing the resulting explosion and saving his comrades from serious injury or death. Monsoor died about 30 minutes later from serious wounds caused by the grenade explosion.
On March 31, 2008, the United States Department of Defense confirmed that Master-at-Arms 2d Class Petty Officer Michael A. Monsoor would posthumously receive the Medal of Honor. U.S. President George W. Bush presented the medal to Monsoor's parents on April 8, 2008. In October 2008, Secretary of the Navy Donald C. Winter announced that DDG-1001, the second ship in the Zumwalt-class of guided missile destroyers, would be named USS Michael Monsoor in his honor.

What is the FCPOA
FCPOA stands for 'First Class Petty Officer Association' we are an legal non-profit entity comprised of E-6 rank crew members of the USS Michael Monsoor DDG 1001. The FCPOA is designed to broaden the professional development of all First Class Petty Officers and their equivalents; provide an outlet for Association Members to become active in their local communities through volunteer work and community events; foster improved morale and esprit de corps; and put forth a positive image of the United States Military and the Association Members.
Basically we do events for the crew to improve crew morale for all crew outside our paygrade (Bingos, Icecream Socials, BBQs) underway during deployments. We also do community outreach in the US and foreign countries that we stop in to improve US-Foreign relations.
What we need
We need a Logo for a T-shirt design, this will be an organizational T-shirt for Association functions and community outreach/volunteer events. We will need a logo for the back and front left breast (The same logo on both is fine) as shown here:
[t]https://i.imgur.com/DG4yDOq.png[/t] [t]https://i.imgur.com/hZxwvKX.png[/t]
The T-Shirt will come in 2 colors, a Dark Navy blue for our current Type I NWU aquaflage uniform, and coyote brown for our upcoming Type III Woodland digital uniforms that will be the new global uniform for the US Navy next year.
Here are a couple suggestions to include in the design which we recommend but it's not a requirement.

Something inspired or related to the Archangel St. Michael (Michael Monsoor was said to be named after the Archangel)
The Bonefrog (A frog skeleton in just about any pose usually carrying a trident, it is a symbol synonymous with 'frogmen'/Seals)

Anything Michael Monsoor related
Anything Navy Seal related EXCEPT FOR SEAL TRIDENTS

Rules
Must be your own Original design
Must be okay with us using the design on our T-Shirts and selling them to both association members and the general public for fund raising purposes only.
Must have a design in by [DEL]Nov. 30[/DEL] Nov. 14 now, you can submit them in this thread.
Your design WIPs can be passed around the crew for critique and suggestions.

What do I get if my Design is selected?
Because we are strictly a non-profit organization it's really hard to sell to the association cabinet to send cash especially since we just started up recently and we don't have much money with which to spend on stuff like this.
Instead the winner will get ship swag and apparel of the one of the most advanced warships in human history.
Which includes but is not limited to:
Crew Member ballcap:
[t]https://i.imgur.com/f1rIgBV.jpg[/t]
This is the same ballcap we wear ever day with our uniforms, if you want you can have one with scrambled eggs if you win
Command Coin:

Shirt/Hoodie/Shotglass/Zippo

One of these of your choosing, the store is closed until next year so I can't get a picture.
The prizes will be sent off to the winner at my expense early next year, we've already shut down our store and sent our stock up on the shipyard in preperation for commisioning the ship and I won't be able to purchase and send those things until then. In the unlikely chance that someone at the command steps up with a design and they like it more (Unlikely nobody here seems interested in stepping up) and your design was still the best in the thread (and isn't shit) you'll still get the stuff.
Any questions please feel free to ask
Very excited for this, i'm working on a few designs :)
So, question: is it okay to submit more than 1 design?
Also, do you ship to other countries? I'm in South America currently.

Yes, that's perfectly fine you can submit as many designs as you want.
As for shipping internationally I've done that before and I can do that but you'd have to walk me through the address structure it's different for every country so I don't want to fuck up the address and if you win I'll probably send you a picture of what's on the shipping label to make sure it doesn't end up at the wrong address.
I'd also point out that International packages take substantially longer to travel so when I do send it it's going to take about 3 to 4 weeks up to 2 months is generally what they quote me for travel time.
Sent you a PM with 2 WIP concepts , hope you enjoy.
I'd just like to put out that US Military traditions involve A LOT of symbolism into our logos. Just for something that might help here is the breakdown of the command seal and command philosophy.
Hope that helps those of you working on designs.
Update: during an association meeting we just had our President motioned to move the deadline UP by 16 days to the 14th November. This is unfortunately due to a schedule change for the crew and a change of when we are leaving for Bath, Maine to prepare the Michael Monsoor for her sail around next year which is out of of our hands.
I apologise for any issues this has caused.
