I fucking love how much of an Iain M Banks geek Musk is. Neural Lace is the name of a form of a computer implant in the Culture series that inveigles itself into the brains of the recipient, giving them access to computing functions.

Listen to Elon Musk talk about it if you want to know more but the gist of it is that it will be some kind of interface with the brain through the blood stream and it will allow human beings to transmit data through thought instead of say... Our thumbs.

Social media has become so intertwined with reality in recent years, and advertising has gotten increasingly aggressive. There are multiple browser add-ons to get rid of them, but some still manage to slip through the cracks. Imagine if they could get ads into your head. Imagine if they could then alter your mind to make you want their products more.
