Mad Catz delisted from the New York Stock Exchange
The well documented financial perils of former FGC sponsors Mad Catz continue as the company was removed from the New York Stock Exchange (“NYSE”) on Friday.
The company’s delisting comes as no real surprise after they released this statement at the end of January which read as follows: “due to the Company’s current low selling share price, the Company’s continued listing on the NYSE MKT is contingent upon the Company effecting a share consolidation or otherwise demonstrating a sustained improvement in its share price within the next six months.”
With the share price falling to just $0.04 on Friday, the company was officially delisted from the NYSE as a result of “an abnormally low trading price”. It comes after a series of budget cuts, executive departures and redundancies over the last year that have underlined the poor financial performance of the company.
The company is also known for its third-party controllers, headsets and peripherals. The lacklustre performance of Rock Band 4, a game co-published by Mad Catz has been blamed for a significant portion of the company’s financial perils.
With the company now facing huge financial uncertainty having been removed from the Stock Exchange, it’s likely that new investment is necessary to save what is evidently an ailing company. Should there be no such investment the next announcement we see could well be the end of Mad Catz.
Good. All of their products were shit anyway.
Here, you can't use the New York Stock Exchange. Use this other stock exchange instead.
Don't worry, it's better.
I never had any trouble with the mad catz wired xbox360 controller I had, not especially shitty compared to how people say they are.

This looks like a company that should have been dead 5+ years ago
wow. Never knew they were doing this bad. Did their reputation finally catch up with them?
this shows as 200USD to me

But I still don't know why they're dying out guys
I don't know, they seem like a REASONABLE company to me

:downs:
I've only owned a single Mad Catz product. A steering wheel for the Playstation 1 that was kinda plasticky and shite even by 90s toy standards.
Well, two if you count my mouse pad, it was on discount and hasn't fallen apart on me yet.
I had a Mad Cats PS2 controller that had a button on it the disabled all inputs. I still have no idea why that was there.
These are the guys that always made the 'here bro, here's your controller' controllers?
Oh shit. These guys own Saitek. (and they've been pulling down the quality of their devices too)
Big deal for the Flight Sim community.

No they don't, not anymore. They sold off Saitek to Logitech recently. While I don't have high hopes for future Saitek products, they probably won't get any worse with Logitech in charge.
I agree with everyone that their controllers sucked. Still, their arcade sticks were very good. Even the cheapest were compatible with sanwa parts.

Oh good, I've really lost track with all the more consequential stuff going on. Phew.
Didn't this company pay to get out of a Guitar Hero controller partnership right before it got really popular so not only did they lose money to back out of the deal but they also missed out on the big bucks from making second player guitars?
E: Google it, yep, $300,000 to not make money.
Their RAT 5 broke on me.
So they completely deserve it!!!

They had the best fightsticks, but that's such a niche market it's not enough to support the entire company.
Despite what has been said about this company, this was the most comfortable, and relatively functional controller I ever got from them.

Mad Catz made the SHITTIEST Playstation 1 peripherals. Literally none of it was still functional by the time my family got a PS2.
They made shit PC peripherals too, worse than even thermaltake, you could say it's been a long time coming

Your opinion is wrong. I will except no other explanation for this bullshit.
That is the quintessential "here you can use this controller" controller.
the best controller I had for my n64 was this bugger with stylish translucent burgundy plastic and the first rubberized grips I'd ever seen

I was fortunate (or gentle) enough to never have issues with the stick wonking out, a staple of mad catz quality
[editline]e[/editline]
it's probably partially responsible for me not having much trouble adjusting to original xbox controllers back in the day, the center handle was very thick in depth
My little brother had one of the XBOX ones, despite what people say it was brilliant- until he ate the rubber on the analogue sticks.

That looks like a visual representation for the wacky side of the 90s.
Ah shit i remember their PS2 stuff.
Had one of these tiddly things as the OG PS2 controller was too big at the time

My nephew ate the rubber on my two original PS2 controllers. There must be something about that rubber that kids like.
Huh... I really like their mouses / R.A.T series...

The wireless ones like these always died and had signals interfering and shit.
