"You're a fucking pussy.

Billboard reports that Linkin Park are headed to sell around 90,000 units of their latest record "One More Light," landing at No. 2 on the US Billboard 200 albums chart. As a reference point to how much albums metal bands are selling these days, Metallica's "Hardwired... To Self-Destruct" sold 291,000 units in debut week, Mastodon's "Emperor of Sand" moved 43,000 units, and Megadeth's "Dystopia" shipped 48,000 copies.

Here, Linkin Park actually lay out the entire plot of this endeavor by asking "Why is everything so heavy?" With the bandmembers all hovering around their forties, they've matured and fully expect fans to do the same, taking huge steps away from the nü metal that established them in the early 2000s. Objectively, that attitude is refreshing, but nonetheless a letdown. From their inception, Linkin Park connected through catharsis. However, many of the emotions presented here are fleeting. The issue isn't that it's a pop effort; indeed, they get points for a brave attempt so outside of their wheelhouse. The problem is that much of One More Light is devoid of that visceral charge that previously defined much of their catalog. It's a provocative challenge that ultimately fails to satisfy.
https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/general_music_news/chester_bennington_reacts_to_sellout_accusations_fucking_meet_me_outside_ill_punch_your_fucking_mouth.html https://www.ultimate-guitar.com/news/upcoming_releases/one_more_light_projected_to_become_linkin_parks_lowest-selling_album_since_2000.html http://www.allmusic.com/album/one-more-light-mw0003023781

EPIC Halo 3 Frag Video - Linkin Park Numb [sp]people still listen to LP?[/sp]
EPIC Halo 3 Frag Video - Linkin Park Numb [sp]people still listen to LP?[/sp]
Shit loads. My parents even go to gigs occasionally. Well, until their more recent albums at least. Which have divided the fan base to such an absurd degree I'm shocked they can even sell enough copies.
A new level of professionalism.
Shit loads. My parents even go to gigs occasionally. Well, until their more recent albums at least. Which have divided the fan base to such an absurd degree I'm shocked they can even sell enough copies.
I honestly enjoyed LP up until after Meteora, or, when the first Bayformers movie came out.
I don't think most people hate this album because it's the band selling out, they hate this album because it's terrible.
"For any band to take musical risks because you like what you're doing in spite of what you know some people will say they don't like, it doesn't matter if they like it or not - what matters is that you took the chance to do something that you felt was important to you and that's what being an artist is all about.

Creatively probably the best thing, professionally it might be the worst.'
My problem with this argument is that this album took no risks at all and suffers a distinct lack of creativity.
I listened to it, it's not Half bad, Instrumentation needed to change, to a more minutes to midnight which had softer songs or Living things which had some hard/soft songs Also I'll Admit I am a Linkin Park Fan, and a portion of the fanbase bitched and moaned about leaving Nu-Metal since Minutes to Midnight, and only got happy again after the Hunting Party.
They tried so hard and got so far but in the end it didn't even matter.
I honestly enjoyed LP up until after Meteora, or, when the first Bayformers movie came out.
I've had stuff from their newer things shuffled into Spotify radio a few times. I get that they're experimenting with new sounds and all that, as they rightly should be, but holy shit Chester doesn't have the range to do half of what they try any more, hence all the supporting artists. One weird aspect of growing up with parents who like them, I don't particularly care for them but I still know enough about them to compare their shit. Help.
As a die hard fan. I'm extremely disappointed. I don't get why it's a sellout though. Listened to the album enough now to get a judgement on it and it ain't the same. Sure you have to revolutionize and change your music but this is way too far from what Linkin Park made themselves out to be originally. The touch has been lost Chester.
They actually Tried to go Lyrics First on the album instead of Seed => Instumental Demo => "Donna" Vocal Demos => Lyrics.
if they're sellouts for making a bad album then these guys have been the kings of selling-out for years
I still like angsty LP, during Meteora and all of that. I dunno, I just do. Everything after "What I've done" though is ugh
I listened to it, it's not Half bad, Instrumentation needed to change, to a more minutes to midnight which had softer songs
Oh yes, the album that had Chester doing emotional, pain-wrought singing over an acoustic song. Because that worked so well.
Minutes to Midnight was the last album I bought from LP. I really liked the prior ones, and MtM had some good songs, but overall? It was way too politically charged for my taste. I wasn't really interested in listening to the singer complain about the current political atmosphere. They just kind of lost me as a fan after that.
Sellout is such a weird insult because just about every band ever has sold out in some way because its the smart thing to do.
Can they just re-release Hybrid Theory?
Ah shit, I had my razor blades on pre-order and my hairstylist ready to put highlights back in hair. How will I ever get the edge that I so need in my music? :v: [sp]The new album sucks and I actually miss what they were doing before.[/sp]
I can't wait to listen to it on a loop 64700 times.
i still listen to tracks from hybrid theory/meteora frequently. ive never bothered to listen to any of their other albums lol. for me, the nu metal aspect is the best part.

And yet nobody is posting the best version of any Linkin Park song ever.

What the hell happened to Chester? Dude always seemed so chill and genuine.
I've not been a huge fan since minutes to midnight, but I've respected there decision on changing it up. However, this was a big pile of crap and a middle finger. Sorry LP but your wrong this time
Mike Shinoda is honestly the only reason I pay any attention to Linkin Park. Still waiting for another Fort Minor album. I'm surprised Linkin Park is still around
Sometimes i go back and listen to some of their old songs like Numb. They're silly and "edgy" in retrospect but i think they're still fun to listen to since it was a lot of what I heard while growing up.
Linkin Park has always been metal for people who don't like metal anyway.
Sellout is such a weird insult because just about every band ever has sold out in some way because its the smart thing to do.
Unless you're a band like Fugazi and can reach a wide audience on an independent label with no singles and next to no promotion.
