Church of England issues transphobic bullying guidance
The report, Valuing All God's Children, said children should be able to play with "the many cloaks of identity" without being labelled or bullied - "sometimes quite literally with the dressing-up box".

"The aim of this guidance is to prevent pupils in Church of England schools and academies from having their self-worth diminished or their ability to achieve impeded by being bullied because of their perceived or actual sexual orientation or gender identity."
Good progressive message from the Church, always welcome.
Oh thank goodness, I thought based on me misreading the title that this was literally a set list of rules and suggestions on how to bully trans people. Not sure why I thought that's what it would be.

because its likely some shithead would do exactly that given the political climate

I won't lie, I had to re-read the title a few times for it.
But ontopic, this is great.
Christianity is about Love, Kindness, Respect, not Hate.
I hope this will cause more Churches to be accepting of LGBT people.
IIRC there aren't exactly explicit condemnations of it in the bible. At least depending on what your definition of man and woman are.
That’s pretty much what the church should do. Preach love not hate. Meanwhile our church over here says that homosexuality and transgenderism are the work of the satanic Jews and the evil western imperialism who want to bring sodomy in our holy lands and destroy the image of man and woman.
The church in the UK is rapidly falling out of relevance. Its main audience is dying off and young people don't want to associate themselves with an institution that has a reputation more for hypocrisy and ignorance than love and acceptance. They need to cultivate a more open message to get at least some people under the age of 50 involved.
