• Burger King Trolled Customers to Perfectly Explain Net Neutrality
Burger King created a “fast lane” for Whoppers in the commercial, which allowed customers who paid more to get their burger faster. Without the net neutrality rules that the Federal Communications Commission repealed last year, internet companies could charge customers more for faster access to certain online content, just like the Whopper fast lane. They could prioritize some content over others (chicken sandwiches over Whoppers, for example) and throttle service on content for some users (very, very slowly handing over the bag).
https://motherboard.vice.com/en_us/article/a3nmze/burger-king-net-neutrality-ad kinda a cheesy video but it gets the point across. I can't tell if those people are in on the joke or not...
Props to whoever came up with this marketing campaign. Extremely creative.
I can't tell if those people are in on the joke or not...
they're actors sweetie
Good campaign to bring attention to the problem, though some of these customers were obviously acting, especially in the last segment while being interviewed. But im guessing its kind of the point that they are actors
I love how this has Reagan Burns in it just to kick it up a notch. I'd know i'm on TV, if I see that guy.
Maybe this is their way of apologizing for the "hey Google, what is a Whopper" ad :v:
I can't tell if those people are in on the joke or not...
"OH my god this is the WORST thing I've ever HEARD of" yeah I don't think they're genuine somehow. "Actual guests" that they probably asked to do a thing.
they're actors sweetie
So... is it allowed to hire actors and then write this at the end of the video in the US? Because your ass is gonna be kicked very hard by regulators if you do such thing in Russia.
big fan of the king supping out of the Reese's cup at the end
I was kind of convinced until the chick leaning on the counter and they guy going "I just want a burger!" were nooooot so convincing.
"OH my god this is the WORST thing I've ever HEARD of" yeah I don't think they're genuine somehow. "Actual guests" that they probably asked to do a thing.
Trust me, I've heard the dumbest fucking shit at work exactly like this
they're actors sweetie
wtf
[t]https://i.imgur.com/rNr5pcC.png[/t] Hey, just... move the camera down a bit... if you could... if you could just... the camera's a bit HIGH UP.
hey wait a minute
Trust me, I've heard the dumbest fucking shit at work exactly like this
He sounds like Jay from RLM when they're doing a hammy skit though.
Good campaign to attention to the problem, though some of these customers were obviously acting, especially in the last segment while being interviewed.
big fan of the king supping out of the Reese's cup at the end
I had that exact same oversized mug, twice. They just kept breaking though, too big.
That's one big mug.

If you pulled this shit with every random person who came in a Burger King, there would probably be rioting.
That's one big mug.
Indeed tis a chalice fit for a King.
just in case no one gets it lol
Props to whoever came up with this marketing campaign. Extremely creative.
Is replacing "internet" with "burger" to explain net neutrality really that creative? Replacing one thing with another more commonplace thing to illustrate how ridiculous or outrageous something that's "difficult to understand" is isn't exactly a new thing. Or is there just some sarcasm here I'm missing?
Is replacing "internet" with "burger" to explain net neutrality really that creative?
To come up with how it'd actually work if BK actually did it, and then write a script for it? Idk it deserves a lil credit.
To come up with how it'd actually work if BK actually did it, and then write a script for it? Idk it deserves a lil credit.
Yeah, and the script is just "take what Net Neutrality does to the internet and replace it with burger. Hire actors for the commercial and then film."
Google hasn't positioned themselves in the current FCC Net Neutrality repeal at all, that's already a big message
Er... no?
