which, having just watched it, is probably the most generic, cliche and dull shit ever. and this is who they picked to do a big screen adaptation of one of the most popular video game characters there is.
yeeeah it's a real mystery why video game movies nearly always suck lol. this is so obviously people trying to make some easy money by shitting out the cheapest garbage they can and just riding solely off brand recognition

Going to be the most spectacular live-action + blue CGI people cinematic disaster since The Smurfs.

The Angry Birds Movie is pretty good, considering its slightly higher ratings - ultimately there are no critically successful video game movies tho'
As much as I am unsure about the mario film, at least being made by illumination means there's only like a 2% chance it'll have live action elements.
That movie theater is going to smell so bad.

Unleashed would fit better as a fully animated movie since most of the human characters have a more cartoony, pixar-esque look to them. Adventure 1&2 have more realistic look to it's environments and human characters with only Sonic, his friends and Doctor Roboteggnickman having more cartoony proportions.

Also, I want them to use the dumb AOR buttrock from the Adventure-era games, I despise the autotuned bubblegum pop in later Sonic games but I have such a soft spot for the dumb buttrock. Joey Gioeli truly has the voice of an angel.
We all know this movie is going to bomb at the box office. I am willing to bet that it is not going to break even on it's first week end release. Rotten Tomatoes and Meta critic rating is estimated to be on the severe negative.
SEGA really must have a deathwish to have this movie be a live action CGI Hybrid.

From my.experience with live-action/CGI movies. Sonic is going to move in with a man and the movie is going to focus on the man and his career in advertising or music.
