It hasn't been officially greenlit yet but imo I see no reason to expect otherwise http://deadline.com/2017/10/lethal-weapon-mel-gibson-danny-glover-richard-donner-at-warner-bros-1202196260/
EXCLUSIVE: It looks like the band just might back together. Deadline hears that Mel Gibson, Danny Glover, Richard Donner are all huddling on the possibility of doing another film for the the Lethal Weapon franchise. In the scenario we’ve heard Donner would direct and Channing Gibson (Lethal Weapon 4) would script.
If they weren't too old for this shit before they surely must be by now lmao
Will it have Danny Devito though?
I swear to god i've already seen it though?
why? they were old in the last movie, they'd be geriatric now.
why? they were old in the last movie, they'd be geriatric now.
MONEY!
GETTIN TOO OLD FOR THIS SHIT, RIGGS
If they don't include the cast of It's Always Sunny, I'm not going to bother with it
Mel can do it, he's still doing fantastic in my books as far as movies go and he's got the energy and pep to make it happen. Glover though is like a ghost, poor guy needs a walker to get around... I wouldn't say no, would be good for a bit of fun.
won't be the same without Joe Pesci going bonkers tho. It took Scorsese all fuckin year to convince him to do another film, so I seriously doubt he's gonna also agree to do this one or we would've heard about it already.
As much as I love Lethal Weapon, I'm not sure I want to see them do another one. 3 and 4 were fine as finales anyway. "Hey hey listen to me! They fuck you with the..." and so on.

The TV series is fine enough as it is. A movie with the old starts, I don't know..
If they'd have gotten Shane Black again to write it, I'd be all of it, he would find a way to make it work even with them being so old.
I've never seen any of them. :v
I've never seen any of them. :v
your man card, it's just been revoked.
I've never seen any of them. :v
You need to get on that. Lethal Weapon 1 and 2 are action film essentials.
For god's sakes why? Seriously why? By movie four things started to feel a bit stale and tired but even despite that, it ended on a nice "happily ever after" note that didn't need further expansion. The fact that the BOTH of them had "gotten too old for this shit" was explored and was the part of what solidified LW4 as a definitive conclusion. Give us something that recaptures the LW character dynamics, sure. Hell, make it a rip-off, that's what passes for a homage these days, as long as it's still solidly well-made and entertaining.

I can't blame him. Mel, Danny and Donner have great chemistry. If you look at any of their interviews together, they're all having a good time.
