Eric's Daily Journal (Watercolor/Ink, also it's in Japanese for some reason)

hey so i've been doing a daily journal for a bit over a week now, it's hella fun and having to paint something every day is very good practice
i'm doing it in japanese because i want to keep my skills at a decent level so having to write something every day is also very good practice

everything is either drawn/painted from life or from a photo i took during the day
it's also interesting how quickly i've been improving daily and kinda defining a style

Loving the style and atmosphere. Is there any chance you could take us through your workflow? Do you make a pencil drawing first? Pen before or after the watercolour?

I finally finished a whole month of my daily journal which is pretty cool

It's really nothing special, I just draw a pencil sketch, draw the lines with a pen and then do the watercolor. For the first few I did the watercolor first and the pen afterwards but I usually prefer the opposite.

Not that the initial ones aren't great but the improvement over such a short time sure is impressive.

I had a sneaking suspicion about three images in (eight sealed the deal though obviously) that you're weren't native because your handwriting is actually legible, nice work there too, mine is awful. Though not of the image variety you have convinced me to try to at least work on some sort of journal daily.

Those forest scenes bring back memories of camping in my childhood, oh how I miss it.
