They have announced a series of new actions in order to achieve that goal. First, they will be adding 100 new service locations to their more than 150 existing service centers. The company says that they are opening those based on the concentration of Model 3 reservations in certain markets. ... In order to support all those changes, Tesla plans to hire as many as 1,400 new service technicians this year alone.
https://electrek.co/2017/07/11/tesla-new-service-strategy/ Hopefully this brings down some of the crazy service wait times that some areas have.
They only have 700 techs currently? That's like, 14 per state
As much as the idea of owning one grinds my gears, I can't say I would object much to working on them for a living. I would be an oddball in the employee lot, though, prolly the only guy there with ICE under the hood :v:
In-car scheduling sounds like a nightmare. I can just imagine the hoards of inept soccermoms pulling up to the door saying they made an appointment through the vehicles system because they glanced at the page for it without signing up right, or signed up for the wrong thing, etc... god, its a head ache to think about. I can hear the demands to speak to service managers from here.

I'm sure for a lot of people Tesla just represents another job at which they can put previous automotive dealership skills to work. Speaking of their employee lot, it's notoriously bad (and full of ICE) https://www.instagram.com/teslaparkinglot/?hl=en
Incompetence isn't Tesla's fault tho.
I'm not saying it's their fault, I'm saying it sounds like a massive pain in the ass for the guys in the shop on the receiving end of it.

So they expect to triple capacity without trippling staff. [editline]12th July 2017[/editline]
In-car scheduling sounds like a nightmare.
