Michael Joseph Oleksik, 23, was charged with criminal mischief after Wells Fargo requested Cocoa Police press charges against the man. ... Oleksik's actions caused at least $5,000 in damages, FOX13 reported.

Oleksik's actions caused at least $5,000 in damages, FOX13 reported.
Just christ what kind of punches is this guy throwing
He probably attacked the screen and damaged the computer parts behind it.
I've never heard someone complaining about receiving too much money before
He probably attacked the screen and damaged the computer parts behind it.
Incredibly unlikely unless he knocked it over which these things are designed to protect against, you can't break an atm with just your own two hands. Either the machine couldn't handle the environment or the electronics were not properly shielded and connected when he punched it. What the bank should have done is diagnosed the problem hit up to the manufacturer and ask for a few machines on the house rather than sue some bloke that might not even have $5000. Or they're double dipping but one can only know so much on the outside looking in.
Just christ what kind of punches is this guy throwing
The kind that only Florida Man can do. Though he's still out-tiered by Australia in general.
Should've thrown an alligator at it.
That's a situation that really makes you think. What would you do? Walk away and not take anything? Take a handful and run away? Call someone about it? Apparently this guy thought "It's clobbering time"
Poor ATM
Florida man, florida man, Landing kicks at ATM
I've never heard someone complaining about receiving too much money before
That money is coming out of his account. It's possible that it was overdrawing his account or something
Just christ what kind of punches is this guy throwing
Cost of parts, cost of sending a guy out to fix it. Of course they'd also have to send out someone else to assess damage, also the cost of other people not being able to use it. Its really easy to inflate numbers like mad.
Maybe he's a super hackerman and panicked when he got way too much money, so in order to not blow his weal identity of hackerman he chose to act the fool and punch a screen, they'll never find out hackerman's true motive. Hackerman fools us all once again.
I've never heard someone complaining about receiving too much money before
I'd much rather have a ludicrous amount of money safe in my account than on my person, at any rate
"Trying to frame me for a crime? You bastard!"

Apparently this guy thought "It's clobbering time"
once it dispensed the cash, I'd check my balance. if it turned out to potentially be a matter of me punching in the wrong number I'd take the lot. if it turned out to be that it just spit out too much money, I'd bring the extra to the teller, along with a reporter from WLOX in hopes that they give me a reward and I'd get some air time. bringing WLOX, they have two options, saying "dang, thanks for bringing this problem up with us" and looking like the bad guy in the local news, or awarding me with some clean money and getting positive press alternatively, I go to the atm while drunk and just take the damn money

Theyd just fix their ATM and pat you on the bavk and everyone would go back to not caring
at least now he has the money to pay for damages
-woah suddenly wrong thread-

Now he will have less money. He planned that all along.
Most people in Florida are freakishly strong Source: living in Florida for 18 years
can confirm, also floridian. funfact: since bullets ricochet off gators, the most effective way to kill them is to throw a large rock on their heads. this is probably why floridians have caveman strength
$3000 of that $5000 is psychological damage done to the ATM.
How would they look like the bad guy? Theyd just fix their ATM and pat you on the bavk and everyone would go back to not caring
"honest customer returns money to bank, bank takes it and tells them to fuck off" it's all in how you spin it
