A father and stepmother have lost custody of two of their five children after playing pranks on them in a series of YouTube videos. The pranks included one in which their youngest son was told he had been adopted by another family. Mike and Heather Martin faced criticism for the videos, but denied they were abusive and claimed they were fake. Custody of two of the children has now been returned to their biological mother. "Emma and Cody are with me, I have emergency custody - they're doing good," said Rose Hall who revealed the news in a YouTube video with her lawyer Tim Conlon. "They're getting back to their playful selves." She added that it had been "very heartbreaking and disturbing to see my kids be abused".
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/39783670 I honestly feel relieved for them. They've demonstrated they are unfit to raise children, period. Poor Cody, I wish him nothing but the best.
While getting out of that house is fantastic news, I can only hope the kids can have the damage undone. Life long trauma has been found in children who've experienced MUCH less than that.
Doesnt the mother have all sorts of mental disorders? Could have been reading something wrong... Better to be in her hands and not being exploited at the very least
Why only two? If you're unfit to parent some, then you're unfit to parent all.
Doesnt the mother have all sorts of mental disorders? Could have been reading something wrong... She lost them in the first place because of an unfair judge.
Man he must be devastated about this. It's going to hurt his income a lot.
Man he must be devastated about this. It's going to hurt his income a lot.
So? Fuck him. He's abusing his children and exploiting them for money by making videos of him abusing them on YouTube. He shouldn't just have his children take for him, he should be prosecuted for child abuse.

'cause the whole channel seems to indicate that the guy values YouTube money more than the well-being of his children.
If you read the article, the two children that have a different biological mother were returned to her for care. The other three have a more complex situation.
I understand that. It doesn't change the fact that the court clearly recognizes that he is not fit to parent, so taking away only 2 out of 5 kids is a limp-wristed approach.
Now he's DaddyOThree!
From what I saw of the situation it seemed like those 2 were the most overtly abused, but judging by the videos I imagine the other kids are a bit more internally fucked up, being very violent, boisterous and borderline psychopathic. I got the impression that the 2 kids disapproved and hated what was happening to them and wanted out, while the other 3 had completely internalised what was happening and thought it was perfectly ok. Basically, this is only the beginning, and getting the other 3 out of there and in proper care with the requisite mental support is the next step. Honestly, I think the parents should be jailed too.

The other 3 are fully his, along with his current wife in the videos. Something could still happen but the investigation just started.
I wonder how he's going to take it on his other 3
I wasn't aware cody (and another) weren't this mother's (especially since he's the youngest??), but it does explain why he ended up being the butt of the entire fucking family's jokes. He wasn't totally one of them, quite literally "the red-headed stepchild"

get fucked
I feel like he isn't going to take any responsibility for any of this. He is just going to blame "haters"
Now he's DaddyOThree!
DaddyOZero next please
If only we could have seen their faces when they had to give them up. You lost your sources of income and punching bags, assholes should face charges tbh.
The sad part is we only saw what they thought was acceptable to show to the public. I wonder what else went on
This is why prank channels are dumb. You got all of these dummies who set out to do shit like this.
And given that many advertisers don't want to associate their ads with shit like this, I imagine such videos aren't quite as profitable due to the resultant less ad-views per video.
Have they deleted the video where they brag about CPS finding nothing yet
Have they deleted the video where they brag about CPS finding nothing yet
They deleted everything weeks ago :v:
Hell yes for my man Cody It isn't entirely over though, and I don't think you should file it away in your mind. Basically Cody and Emma are going to be staying with their mom for a while, while a custody case is being properly set up. They're not out of the woods entirely because who knows what the custody case will determine but I think things are optimistic for them and it might be a loooong break before they see that family again. Not to mention, as easy as it might be to demonize them for bullying Cody, don't forget the older ones are victims of abuse as well and we still have to hope and push for better for them.

I'm unsure as to what's exactly going down with the other three right now, though. I hope for the best.

'cause the whole channel seems to indicate that the guy values YouTube money more than the well-being of his children.
Reminds me of my former bosses. (the owners of the company, anyway) They had 10 children: 2 theirs, 8 adopted from over-seas (mostly Russia, and with blonde hair and blue eyes). Pretty much everyone there suspected they did it purely for tax breaks/extra funding from the government. They lost all of the adopted children recently in a child abuse case (the mother was the abuser, the father charged because he allowed it to happen despite knowing what was going on), to which they both plead guilty. After losing the children, you'd think if there was any genuine love or compassion for them, they'd have shown some sign of distress (though unlikely because they were fucking abusing them to begin with), but rather they (and their oldest child, who has some problems to say the least) basically said "good riddance to those little brats". People can be fucking gross, man.
