Biscuit-Boy's vaguely apocalyptic but definitely military photo extravaganza

Hi peeps. I collect military gear and such (used to airsoft way back when) and I put it to use in this weird, edgy photoshoot. This photo project took me a year or two to prepare (mostly buying shit), and I have so many photos that I can't really narrow it down past 20 images (I had nearly 70 that I really liked), so I made a thread. I had a shitload of fun, stress doing it, so I hope you enjoy my photos. I'd love CC on the photographic aspects, but I realize that the narrative element isn't perfect and there's a lot of things I could have done differently to improve the storytelling.
Hope you enjoy <3

Hope you had a nice time ;)
These are great! I love the one with the red laser, very cool. Nice Facepunch badge too :)
Fantastic work here, absolutely love it.
wow, some lovely stuff
love the fp badges too ;)
Pretty intriguing with some nice colours and a fairly realistic / gritty feel in most of them. It is quite successful at creating an atmosphere. As a set of photos I really like it and find myself thinking that it has a cinematic quality to it which reminds me of certain TV shows (for instance, the military episode of Black Mirror).
One thing I would say, is that the photos where the people are doing things are way more interesting than the ones where it is just people standing. I think it is probably important to the narrative to have some photos of people standing to establish some "characters," but there could be less.
The first 3 photos are really good, with the 1st or 2nd being the best in my opinion. One other thing I would say is that all of the photos, though well shot, feel a little static. The narrative could be improved with a slight change of intensity as you progress through. For instance, maybe a photo or two of people running? A couple action shots is all I'm saying really. Right now, the third photo looks very staged, as though they were simply standing in that pose waiting for the photo to be taken. If there was a little motion or dynamic quality to the image (either in actuality - for instance taking the photo while they walk past - or compositionally, with them more loosely framed and perhaps from a less direct angle.

I really like the lighting in this one, feels very much like a still from a documentary in which the journalist is following a group around:

Thanks a million for the in depth feedback!
Regarding action -- I wanted to go for a very relaxed melancholy look, so I actually didn't even attempt any running/jumping/shooting kind of photos. I wanted to move away from the whole masculine Colin Duty gung ho kind of feeling and instead capture these characters at rest, so I tried to keep everything very mellow -- but I do agree that the photos that don't involve anything other than standing are less interesting, and I wish I'd more time to do all kinds of different poses and scenes. I think your suggestion of making it more of a linear progression is really interesting though, and it's something I didn't consider.
Oh, and the shopping trolley was just a joke photo that I threw in, I should have considered that people might take it as a serious entry as well.
Thanks to a-cookie, Luxuria, and Melonguy for the kind words as well :)

That is actually a really interesting idea, so fair enough. In that case, I simply wonder if having maybe 1 or 2 action shots at the beginning or in the middle would really emphasize the fact that the others are intentionally at rest. I'm not sure, just a thought. I really like your idea now that you made it clear to me.
I'd put the shopping cart at the bottom with "Bonus: " before it if you didn't want it to be considered with the others, aha.
I also really like the mellow idea, though.
