How interesting. Do you think this could lead to Amazon drones that deliver groceries, or is that still a little out there?
probably has to do with amazon go
give me free food shipping with prime so i can eat healthy without wasting my time shopping 👌
Prime Pantry and Amazon Fresh sort of offer this. Pantry gives flat-rate shipping of dry goods. Fresh gives you short-lived stuff like produce.

Does Amazon Pantry have any direct online competitors?
Does Amazon Pantry have any direct online competitors?
Direct? Not really. You need a lot of infrastructure in order to manage a business like that, not to mention companies that sign up.
Does Amazon Pantry have any direct online competitors?
Kroger has a similar deal I believe that delivers. I think it's more geared towards bigger orders from companies though.
From 3 months ago: Apparently it was obvious to some people :v:
Kroger has a similar deal I believe that delivers. I think it's more geared towards bigger orders from companies though.
they are starting a new service called clicklist for regular people but that requires you to pick up your shit at the store.
Does Amazon Pantry have any direct online competitors?
http://www.consumerreports.org/grocery-stores-supermarkets/do-online-grocers-really-deliver/ Instacart, Peapod, and FreshDirect compete in the same space.
whole foods is also expensive as fuck
It goes both ways. Some stuff is absurdly expensive, but other products (usually the in house brand) are fairly reasonable.
$13 billion is how much I spent buyin some avocados there. makes sense
I'm not really a fan of most of their brands or produce, but I do like their foodcourt/salad bar. They have kickass corn bread, and they've got ginger bread during the holiday season
so what if i just pick things up and walk out without enough money to pay for it?
so what if i just pick things up and walk out without enough money to pay for it?
It's 2017. Video cameras exist. The police exists. If you did that in a regular store, no one would stop you anyway because of liability issues, so it would probably be even better if you did that at a store that didn't have your personal information on file.
i suppose that makes sense, i was just wondering if there were any automatic prevention measures
A few things like: Walking out with an item that isn't in a 'virtual shopping cart' will probably trigger an alarm. I imagine you can't ENTER the store without 'checking in' at the gate, and you also have a bunch of other people around who will probably stop you from shoplifting or tampering with the food. There might also be security on site that can keep watch.
How interesting. Do you think this could lead to Amazon drones that deliver groceries, or is that still a little out there?
Canada Superstore is starting to do home deliveries so I'm guessing so.
How interesting. The US specifically is one of them as well, which doesn't bode well as they're a major market for any potential Amazon services.
