Could be a speaker blowing, could of been something else. It's important not for people to make assumptions about any bomb until information comes out
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4531940/Emergency-services-rush-Manchester-Arena.html At least one injured. What the hell is happening over there? Some kind of concert? Just read it on ARFCOM and went to post over here. Hope this was just some accident.
Hope I don't wake up to a worse story, my condolences for anyone injured by whatever happened
apparently there was an ariana grande concert?
Lots of speculation atm, hope no one is hurt
Second tweet, this time referring to it as a serious incident. Not looking good, hope not many people are hurt. [editline]22nd May 2017[/editline] Seems to be a pretty relaxed announcement, plus its been sometime now and there's been pretty much no talk of anything v serious beyond speculation. Maybe a technical issue? --EDIT-- News just confirmed a number of confirmed fatalities...
sounds bad
Oh dear
Armed police on the streets
Oh no
Theres talks of fatalities
I live 10 minutes away can hear the sirens down the main road.
Jesus, I have worked as a responder at concerts before but I would never dream of something like this happening. I hope the responders can do as much as they can.
Good luck in general.
The Grauns headline says 'number of fatalities' Uh I was slow on that one
Shit shit
shit, I have a few pals in manchester, I hope this doesn't get worse
oh fuck
Regardless of this is an accident or something else, it fucking sucks that it's a crowd of mostly kids. I can't even imagine the feeling you get as a parent waiting outside for your kids and their friends while this stuff is going down. Thoughts go out to everyone, and if you're in the area, stay safe. -- Edit -- Can we keep 2 word responses to a minimum as well please? If people know anyone involved, or just want to get to the relevant information, I don't want them to have to go through several posts of just "oh no" beforehand, thanks.

Fucking hell some students I know are there right now Edit: They're ok
Tons of speculation flying around. I have seen a few people from inside saying they saw no actual explosion, and that there was a loud noise that caused a stampede which is where the injuries are coming from. Maybe the explosion wasn't in the main area itself though. Who knows though at this point, we should find out soon. Edit- Certaily doesn't sound that way now though.
Everyone started leaving. I was on the floor and at the back of the arena people started exiting through the tunnels. 'There was a bang in the left tunnel and everyone went to the middle tunnel. Then about two minutes later, there was another bang. The bang was so loud and crowds of people were running. There were lots of children and families there.' Another witness Jenny Brewster told MailOnline: 'We were exiting the building when it happened. We'd headed towards the main doors as Ariana was performing the last song because we wanted to beat the crowds, but – as we made our way there - a wall of security men blocked it and told us to go the other way. 'Seconds later they shouted 'RUN!' and the explosion happened right behind them. Hundreds of people were running and screaming. Those men saved our lives.'

Her friend, Livvy, 22, added: 'we saw the explosion happen. Bits of it hit me. My first thought was, "that's a bomb". 'It was just when we were leaving. We saw a flash of light and smoke. 'We're really shaken up. If we had been there moment earlier we would have been caught up in it rather than seeing it.'
If anyone is interested, the top post on the reddit thread is updating with news: https://www.reddit.com/r/worldnews/comments/6cqdye/manchester_arena_explosions_two_loud_bangs_heard/ Also, reddit live thread - https://www.reddit.com/live/yz4k8674h837
Oh fuck, one of my best mates is working near there right now. Edit: Managed to get him on the phone, he was thankfully off work tonight. Hoping that there are no more casualties.
If the stuff on Reddit about security not checking bags is true and this does turn out to be a bomb (not saying it is, wait for the authorities) that is going to be awful.
