Though Rain didn’t always see herself as androgynous. Instead, she saw herself as an “ugly women”. “I never had bad feelings about it, I just felt that maybe I was that one girl,” Dove told After Ellen. “It wasn’t until I was wilderness firefighter for a while and that’s when I felt more empowered in my ambiguity and sexuality as far as gender presentation goes.” Quite frequently, people assume Rain is male, but she doesn’t correct them. Instead, Rain takes advantage of these “misunderstandings”. “When I was a firefighter they thought I was a male and I went with it because I really need a job and I was out in the middle of nowhere in Colorado,” she said. “So I utilized my gender bending profile as something that had gotten me a bunch of odd jobs from nannying to landscape.” And that’s when it all started… Now, Rain Dove is an activist, she is pursuing acting, and she is the model that turns heads on the runway in both menswear and womenswear. “We’re all struggling to be unique and the most unique thing you can be is yourself,” Rain told Buzzfeed. “The gender thing doesn’t exist; it’s a social construct you don’t have to fit into. There are people who love you; there are people who will love you. There are people who accept you and I’m one of them.”
English Source (Tons more pictures inside) http://www.boredpanda.com/androgynous-model-rain-dove/ Belgium Source http://www.nieuwsblad.be/cnt/dmf20170506_02869200 [t]http://static.boredpanda.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/androgynous-model-rain-dove-10.jpg[/t] [t]http://static.boredpanda.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/androgynous-model-rain-dove-32.jpg[/t] I thought this was something that might interest others on here. It actually is some interesting comparison/contrasting photos they took.
...didn’t always see herself...
:mysterysolved:
i wonder what she sounds like
Did they ever consider that people were just being nice and respectful by recognizing what they were trying to do? I mean in every male photo Rain is conveniently hunched forward so it's not that visible from the front, but in any other setting you'd notice the breasts.
I don't really see how this is news.
I don't really see how this is news.
It isn't, but what do you expect? It's a neat story anyway regardless of intentions.
Damn I'm jealous of her jawline...

My dick is confused
[t]http://static.boredpanda.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/androgynous-model-rain-dove-10.jpg[/t]
If they ever make Cowboy Bebop live action, this chick can play both Spike and Faye no problem.
Is the reading magazine one photo shopped or just really clever angle placement?
she's 6'2'' for anyone wondering "gender doesn't exist, it's a social construct" doesn't follow. the dollar or the pound sterling is a social construct but it still rules people's lives. however, despite her phrasing, she must know first-hand that there are social consequences to going in between genders so maybe I'm just being a pedant
I thought it was a dude til I saw that they have tits.
I thought it was a dude til I saw that they have tits.
Honestly the cosplay community has made that line blurry for years, like this guy cosplaying your avatar :v:
if you have a dick, you are a dude. Don't give me that feminine cock bullshit (User was banned for this post ("shitpost" - OvB))
if you have a dick, you are a dude. Don't give me that feminine cock bullshit
do you check every dudes dick just to make sure? because I dunno about you but typically I look at other signs first to figure out if I'm talking to a dude or a lady, like the clothes they wear for instance
tbh I guess I'm missing something because I'm not getting any message on my end
The message is pretty obvious, though? Even if you don't get it, the article spells it out for you. It's about challenging gender norms and breaking down barriers. You might say it's not a very strong or original message, but please don't be purposefully daft
She's only really androgynous because she sports a short (and really fucking ugly) haircut and either no or very discrete makeup. Her entire message is also fucking stupid considering how her entire career is based on camera tricks, hunching over and wearing baggy clothes to hide the obvious feminine part of her body, ie a quite voluminous pair of tits.

It would be far more convincing if it hinged less on the tits. Willing to grow out armpit hair when being a boy, but as far as I can tell, little to no make up, wigs, or effort to play up girly features besides tits and outfits. It's like she wants to be androgynous, but also play to both sexes. It's weird but overall the pics are good by modeling standards in some of them.
There's noticeable cleavage, how do people do that?
You wear a fake bust.
Oh, she is not even transgender or something, but just a tall woman... mind blowing. People would think I was a girl when I was a kid, and my sister looked like a guy and behaved like one(tom boy) while she was in her teens. There are feminine looking men, and masculine looking women everywhere you look, really nothing news worthy.
if you have a dick, you are a dude. Don't give me that feminine cock bullshit
If you're being serious please don't be actually transphobic based on dumb meme bullshit
Wow an ugly man-like woman, what a revelation I've never seen an ugly person before. (User was banned for this post ("Shit Posting" - UncleJimmema))
Wow an ugly man-like woman, what a revelation I've never seen an ugly person before.
In what universe is this person 'ugly'
That is one attractive person regardless of what she wears, though there's not a lot beyond this piece than just "you do you". Good on her for being outwardly about it! Though that name is the only thing that makes me laugh :v:
