Creator and host of a true-crime TV show convicted for murdering his wife and covering up
In a case that played out like an episode of his own true-crime television show, the former host and creator of “India’s Most Wanted” was sentenced this week to life in prison for murdering his wife and trying to frame it as a suicide.
Suspicions about the host, Suhaib Ilyasi, first gripped Indian headlines in January 2000, when his wife, Anju Ilyasi, 30, was found dead from multiple stab wounds in the couple’s East Delhi home.
Mr. Ilyasi, 50, has maintained that his wife killed herself after an argument. But in his ruling, Judge S. K. Malhotra said, “The record does not indicate that she committed suicide.” He suggested Mrs. Ilyasi was killed for knowing too much about her husband’s criminal past.
Life is officially stranger than fiction.
I'm sure that someone with a criminal past won't at all be suspected for his wife's totally normal death by multiple stabbings.
100% foolproof plan right there

Because when I think 'suicide', I think 'multiple stab wounds'.
Holy fuck, this guy's a moron.

Guy is probably guilty, but stabbing yourself multiple times to die faster doesn't seem that far-fetched.

The mind and body react to pain pretty sharply. If the stab wounds are the only cause of affliction, with no substances or medication within the system to dull the mind, most suicidal people would probably of either stabbed themselves in the heart, gone for a more fatal method, or stopped after the first stab because it really fucking hurts. And given that this is a murder, obviously, there's no evidence to suggest the wife would've even been suicidal enough to will her mind through multiple self-inflicted stabs in the first place.

To the people who rated disagree, a friend of my this year died after stabbing himself multiple times in the chest and jumping off a bridge. Not so far fetched at all.

It's really depends on how many stab wounds there are. 2-3 times in believable, anything more really stretches it IMO.
