Sign Up yourself a last fm account: http://www.last.fm/join 2. Download the scrobbler: http://www.last.fm/download 3. It's compatible with FOOBAR, win-amp, itunes and windows media player (other players need a plugin). 4. Stick your account details in there and GET LISTENING! Check your music details (tags) are correct, and the scrobbler should pick it up like this: http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o202/akayz_people/fm_zps3c6286ba.png 5. Come back here after a week and fool around with the tools. 6. After a long while, your library will generate a radio which people can listen to, in order to get an idea of your tastes: http://www.last.fm/listen/user/Akayz7/personal (don't listen to it, it's pretty wack)
tips: The last.fm database isn't built by the people who work there, it's built by YOU. If you see a few album covers missing, help out by uploading them and voting good quality ones. (add /+images to the album url)
Using a music recommender system called "Audioscrobbler", Last.fm builds a detailed profile of each user's musical taste by recording details of the songs the user listens to, either from Internet radio stations, or the user's computer or many portable music devices. This information is transferred to Last.fm's database ("scrobbled") either via the music player itself (Rdio, Spotify, Amarok) or via a plugin installed into the user's music player. The profile data is then displayed on the user's profile page. The site offers numerous social networking features and can recommend and play artists similar to the user's favourites. I wish that country tool realized there can be multiple artists with the same name from different countries...
but tbh last fm should allow separate profiles like rym. [editline]23rd May 2017[/editline] but then you'd have to change ur tags like "Rush (USA)" or something to that effect.

Hey I know I'm reviving a very dead thread (sorry), but I'm stopping in with news about Tapmusic. It's...broken. Like, the server has gremlins and syphilis. I'm taking it out back and shooting it, but it'll be back soon.
I'm just going to revise this thread, if anyone doesn't mind
Hope no one minds me reviving this again. Feel we can get some good chartposting going. Here's my month of March. Used Last.fm Collage Generator https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/237651/948cd903-febe-416b-9bd6-0e479a94f732/mAAAAr.jpg

Either the posters that did left fp or less and less people are using last.fm. But yeah it would be great to have more people here https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/466/3eb6798c-1ab4-4a6c-bc0c-df69c2f1e199/5x5_16.png
last fm shot themselves in the ass when this new "upgrade" happened
Yeah i've moved from actively using last.fm to just passively using it for scrobbles and checking my page like once a week. I just don't care for it that much anymore. I don't know if it's the fact the site is a bit gimped compared to previous times, the fact the community there has dwindled, or the fact i switched to Spotify which has fucked tags most of the time. Or maybe it's 'cause i'm active on RYM now and that filled the void.
rym was always the best. i still use last fm as kind of hope it will be like it was
Can't wait till RYM switches to Sonemic so RYM will be fucked as well.
hope they never finish this sonemic update -- totally fine with how RYM currently works. anyway getting back on topic here's my month: https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/237651/22c5513d-0d35-41b3-8ae8-bb801cd3ba72/image.png
