Netflix has announced it was cancelling its flagship television series, House of Cards, a day after allegations that its star, Kevin Spacey, sexually harassed a 14-year-old boy. Anthony Rapp, an actor, accused Spacey of historical sexual harassment when he was 14 and the star was 26. The Oscar-winning actor was accused of trying to seduce the child by laying down on top of him at a party at his apartment in New York in 1986. Several sources said that the decision to end the award-winning Netflix drama was made prior to Rapp's claim about Spacey, but the announcement nevertheless raised eyebrows for its timing. “Media Rights Capital and Netflix are deeply troubled by last night’s news concerning Kevin Spacey," a Netflix spokesman told The Daily Telegraph. “In response to last night’s revelations, executives from both of our companies arrived in Baltimore this afternoon to meet with our cast and crew to ensure that they continue to feel safe and supported. As previously scheduled, Kevin Spacey is not working on set at this time.” Spacey, who admitted that he was gay for the first time in the apology, said that he could not remember the alleged 1986 incident, but said he was "horrified" by the story.
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/tv/2017/10/30/netflix-cancels-house-cards-wake-kevin-spacey-allegations/
Good. No show is worth validating someone like him.
According to the article the decision was made months ago.
Okay I read a report that said Netflix is ending the show that was decided months ago and has nothing to.do with this
According to the article the decision was made months ago.
Oh, was it? Doesnt say in the snippet. Guuess its just a publicity stunt then.
To be fair House of Cards has slowly been getting worse with each new season so this isn't too bad actually. I still think it's a good show, but it really dropped off after season 2 imo.
Oh, was it? Doesnt say in the snippet. Guuess its just a publicity stunt then.
...Yes it does? Fourth line?
Several sources said that the decision to end the award-winning Netflix drama was made prior to Rapp's claim about Spacey, but the announcement nevertheless raised eyebrows for its timing.
*dies inside* damn... I was SOO looking forward to a future season.
...Yes it does? Fourth line?
Bad reading for me I guess, I totally misinterpreted it
According to the article the decision was made months ago.
The timing is too weird for me to believe that. Anyway, House of Cards hasn't been good for quite a while now, not to mention that the lead actor is a pedophile creep

Last season was just awful
Fixed the thread title then I guess since this was a decision already made prior to the scandal, and not as a result of it.
People don't need Netflix to watch a political drama, they just need to turn on CNN.
Would be stupid to just up and cancel a show because of allegations that haven't been proven in court yet. Pretty obvious they're just trying to use it for some kind of pr bandwagon crap, I guess if they sensationalise it enough people will blame Kevin for the show being cancelled rather than netflix.
The show is collapsing like some sort of precariously balanced structure.
Would be stupid to just up and cancel a show because of allegations that haven't been proven in court yet.
I doubt this would go to court seeing as it happened thirty years ago; but considering the apology that Spacey gave (he didn't deny it) it's likely that he did try to assault Rapp.

At least I didn't waste any time watching this. I guarantee life is more entertaining that it anyway. If not then I have Veep.
*dies inside* damn... I was SOO looking forward to a future season.
There's a spinoff in the works though
There is still one more season on the way, season 6 has not been cancelled.
I never made it past the 3rd or 4th episode of this show anyways. Whenever he started banging that reporter or whatever. And is anyone really surprised Kevin Spacey is a creeper?
Damn, this is really shaking up Hollywood. Maybe it'll be a cleaner place afterward.
Damn, this is really shaking up Hollywood. Maybe it'll be a cleaner place afterward.
I doubt it, people will just be more careful that is all.
Damn, this is really shaking up Hollywood. Maybe it'll be a cleaner place afterward.
No, they need to change their attitudes and the people in positions of power need to be taught to not abuse their power and be better people
